Malphas knew it was about time. He had known that they couldn't be together, that he'd have to move away. Cain implied it discreetly, in a way that only Malphas could understand. Cain gave him a look – 'you have to leave her alone. Lucifer is serious about this.'
As much as it destroyed him, he had no choice but to comply. He knew Cain's plan would work well. And Lucifer would not harm Cain for he was cursed by the Heavens.
Malphas looked at Gabriella, laughing, thinking they would all survive – that she could be with him. But she was so, so wrong. Cain gave her hope, but she had no idea it involved soul retraction. He would never forget her eyes, her spectrum. And this was fine, her thinking that everything was going to be okay. This would be better than seeing her cry. Cain did this, because he knew the Little Angel would not agree to the original plan.
After all, Michael would hate to see his executor to be with the angel.
Lucifer . . . Lucifer would do everything. He was frightening, and no demon had ever dared to oppose him. He must have known that several beings would also help them and that made him have the upper hand. Lucifer was able to think of all the worst possible scenarios, and the thousand different ways to counteract it.
And there they all were.
Lust, Greed, Wrath, and Cain were talking about the final details of the plan. Cain mentioned that he did see Lucifer. It turned out Lucifer was the one who resurrected all the seven deadly sins, saying it was about time they be put at an advantage. It was as if he was even helping them – but, really, he was mocking them. Lucifer knew Malphas's limitations and that thought burned.
Rosetta, the mermaid they met at the Mermaidia Arcana, was also here too. She was going to fight against her own kind. This war declared on them was greater than they have ever imagined. Every being in Hell would side with Lucifer, pleasing him. Then there's Lot who was talking to Gabriella, sharing the things and events they've gone through. On the other side, Sloth was simply staring off in a blank space, and next to him were Gluttony, Envy, and Pride.
The plan was to penetrate the barriers surrounding Michael. Malphas could have easily done that, but without Lilith's help, it wouldn't do them much good. Since Hell was already in chaos, Cain was sure the whole place would be crawling with demons – lots and lots of them. Malphas explained the creatures they could possibly encounter, and Cain assigned the deadly sins as possible solutions. This was to preserve as much divinity in Gabriella. Hell took out most of her reserves and her ethereal corporeal being was still within Lucifer. Until she gets it back, she wouldn't be able to reincarnate any being.
As for Lilith, Cain assured them he'd be able to hold her off though they all knew that woman wouldn't stop, not even for a minute.
"Shall we begin?" Cain smiled at them, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
