Our alarm clock awoke us at 2 am, bright and early in the morning. On a typical morning it would not be acceptable for me to wake up before the sun, but today was special. I was thrilled and energized by the fact that I would experience flying for the first time in my life. The little fact that I would be spending a week with Drew in Los Angles excited me a little too.

Drew, on the other hand, was not particularly excited about this early rising or flying. He had been on planes a plethora of times that the adrenaline kick has washed away and the fear is long gone. As he puts it, flying is just like driving for him, but faster.

I giggled as my husband tried to shut off the obnoxious alarm on his phone, he was a hot mess this morning, especially his hair, which was flying in all directions. Drew made a bunch of grunting, growling and groaning noises as he struggled with the simplistic task of turning his alarm off. Even in his angry and annoyed state, he was adorably cute. With each passing second he grew increasingly more angry with the phone, and I giggled more and more.

"Fuck it," he yelled as he tossed the phone, which was still beeping, to me. "I'm going to shower." He threw the covers off him and stumbled out of our bed, stubbing his toe on my luggage on his way to the shower. I couldn't help but continue to laugh at his clumsiness this morning, he was the cutest hot mess. After swearing and cursing up and down, he finally got himself into the washroom and begun his shower. I had a good laugh well after he was gone, and managed to shut the alarm off with ease.

As Drew hogged the shower I finalized my packing, ensuring that I hadn't forgotten anything. I had plenty of time to check, double check, and triple check all of our bags since Drew loved to take the longest and hottest showers possible, whereas I was more simplistic. My daily goal was the five minute shower, in and out as fast as possible. Drew had already been in the shower for half an hour, completely disregarding the fact that we had to hurry this morning. We had to leave soon if we wanted to make it to the airport in time, but of course Drew was taking his sweet time.

I was beginning to get annoyed with Drew's lack of regard for time so I attempted yelling at him through the bathroom door. "Drew!" I said, using all of my lung power, "Hurry it up! We need to get going soon!" Drew didn't respond, although I could hear his horrible attempt at singing through our door. After flickering the bathroom lights, banging on the door and yelling his name I gave up on hurrying him. He was a stubborn man with a love for the shower, but now was not the time.

I got a coin, which was sitting on our dresser, to unlock the washroom door so that I could unlock the bathroom door and sneak into the shower with Drew. Drew wasn't even phased when I had walked in and continued singing in his ear piercingly loud and off tune voice. I quickly stripped down and joined him in our tight shower.

After another twenty minutes of wrestling, kissing and yelling at Drew I got a decent shower in. When we had both finally finished our showering, we had less than an hour to change and head to the airport.

Besides showering, Drew had me beat for getting ready in the morning. He had a simplistic style to getting dressed, and maintained a clean shave. His brown hair required minimal styling, as it swopped naturally just above his eyes. I, on the other hand, could consume hours deciding upon an outfit, hairstyle, jewelry, and shoes.

I knew that most of our day would be consumed by travelling, but I still enjoyed the process of getting ready. I know that some girls dread getting ready in the morning, while others find it a task, whereas I just find it like a fun daily hobby. So, when I couldn't take my normal time as usual to prepare myself for the day I was slightly annoyed at Drew. He took up so much of my time that we had to rush out of the house, and I couldn't do my makeup. Those little things usually have an effect on me, and could totally ruin my day, but I made a conscious effort to remain positive. I didn't want to get into a fight with Drew just before we went on our honeymoon, I just wanted to enjoy my alone time with him.
