As they take us out of the palace there is literally no one to interfere with the kidnappers. We don't run into any vampires. None at all. In no time we are being shoved into the back of a dodgy looking white van on one of the streets closest to our exit into the city.

When the doors close and Caitlin and I are sat down next to each other on one of the bench-like seats, two men get into the front to drive while the woman and the Darrius-look-alike sit opposite us.

"What do you want from us?" I ask.

"You don't get to ask questions," the lady responds dryly, digging out a phone from her pocket she looks to the handsome human next to her and nods at him, "You know what to do."

"I know what to do with this one," he says, nodding at me, and I notice just how similar he sounds to Darrius... I feel as if I am hallucinating, "What about the extra female?"

"You mean Caitlin Drysdale?" The woman smirks, "If I hadn't recognised her face now she would have been dead soon... have you been watching the news lately? One million offered for her return to her parents and one million for the princess... ha!" The woman chuckles to herself. Caitlin and I share a very annoyed look.

"What do you find so funny?" I ask with a raised eyebrow, looking from her to the guy who is resting his chin on his hand, his elbow on his knee.

"We are getting paid twenty times that amount for delivering you to one very important, secret undercover lab," the woman explains and then turns to the drivers and says over the seats, all too happily, "Drop off the princess and Jay to the lab, then we'll take Caitlin Drysdale back to her parents place, Royalty drive, you know where that is, right?"

"That's not a problem," the driver replies coldly.

"It's nice to meet you, princess," I look to whom I can only think of as Darrius as he holds out his hand for me to shake, "My name is Jay," he smirks as he says this. He seems far too cocky and confident and knowing.

There was something really strange going on here.

"Jay," I tentatively reach out a hand and shake it, "You look like..." I can't say it, not wanting to sound creepy. Now I see the woman smile at my confusion and lean back in her seat, comfortably.

"I need you to hand over your mobile phone, Jennifer," he says, ignoring the fact that I recognized him as some sort of double of Darrius, "Can you please give it to me? I also need your ring."

"I understand you don't want me calling anyone for help but my ring?" I ask.

"It's a hazard," he explains.

"A hazard? I'm going to kill someone with it, am I?" I feel fiercely protective of my wedding ring, and no part of me wants to give it up.

"No, but you'd be surprised what people resort to, to commit suicide," he holds out his hand, talking perfectly calmly, "And I don't know if you are suicidal so hand both over."

"I will only if you tell me what is going to happen to me," I try and keep the fear out of my tone, but memories flood back to me of being kidnapped for Greg Humphrey for the government. Of Jaime telling me she had been an experimented on victim by some crazy people working with science in the government. I refused to believe that is where I was headed.

But I didn't know. I didn't know anything or what was going to happen to me.

Jay hesitates but only for a moment. He leans forwards and puts his hand in the pocket at the side of my red dress. He takes out the phone then searches my other pocket with his other hand. The proximity made me nervous and sweaty. I freeze as he searches my dress and then grabs my hand, taking off my ring. When our skin comes into contact I stop breathing because his touch was the same as my prince's touch.

And that was not okay.

"Who are you?" I ask, glaring at him as he pockets my phone and ring, finally leaning back into his seat.

"I told you, my name is Jay," he smirks again, "Anything else on you I should be aware of? Be honest with me now, Jennifer."

I simply shake my head, staring into his black sunglasses. He refused to take them off and it was really bothering me. I wanted to know if his eyes were the same blue as Darrius'.

"They'll know we are gone by now," Caitlin tells everyone, looking at me with hard eyes. I could tell she was shutting off emotionally, maybe she was going into shock. She was going to be returned to her parents and Eddrick and there was nothing we could do about it.

"No point talking about hope, girls," the woman interrupts us, pulling out her tightly pulled-back hair and running her fingers through the dark brown strands, "The vampires will have no idea where their princess has gone, and Caitlin... you will be reunited with your family. You can consider what we are doing a favour," she smiles at Caitlin who is not impressed.

"You pointed a gun at my head," Caitlin reminds her, "And now you are returning me to my abusive family."

"Maybe you should turn a gun on them, then," the woman snaps back, instantly losing her amusement and her temper setting in, "Your life is not my concern, my life is all I care about."

The van soon comes to a halt and Jay gets up to open the door at the back.

I look to Caitlin, I don't know what to say to her and she doesn't know what to say to me.

We both just stare at each other, both conveying empathy to one another.

As I glance out the door that Jay has opened my heart sinks.

It was the same government building that Darrius and I had been kidnapped to before.

The same people that hurt Jaime resided here.

"Up you get," Jay leans in and grabs my arm, forcing me out because I can't make my legs willingly take me out of the van and towards that building.

The fear was really starting to set in now.

I go to glance back at Caitlin one more time but the door gets slammed shut by Jay and the drivers take off, leaving me alone with Jay on the sidewalk. My simple red dress was making me shiver, but I don't have Darrius with me to put an arm around me and keep me warm.

Instead Jay grabs my arm at the elbow and pulls me with him into the entrance of the cold looking building.

"Who are you?" I ask again, "I can't help but think you're Prince Darrius – you look just like him."

I have to say it because it is just bothering me too much and I have to get it off my chest.

Just as we walk through the doors and I finish saying it, Jay stops and he slowly turns towards me.

"That is one thing I can tell you with absolute honesty," he says quietly, "I. Am. Not. Darrius."

"Are you related to him?" I ask.

"Not at all, darling," he shakes his head and I believe him.

But I am still confused as he continues to coldly pull me with him deeper into the building.

I wish he didn't call me darling.

My confusion starts to mix in with the fear.

Something wasn't right and nothing good was going to come of this.

After what Jaime said about what these people did to her... I knew I was walking straight into hell.
