"If you want him, why did you call me to pick you up?" Trevor asks.

"My temper and my pride, I need to cool off. Plus, he needs to think about what he did." I answer, stubbornly.

"Come on, A. What happened?"

"I don't want to tell you, you'll judge us." I say, sadly. If I tell him about the deal with Paxton he'll hate him. I guess he kind already does.

"Talk to me or I'll take you to Pa's house instead of mine." He threatens.

"You wouldn't dare." I say, outraged.

"Oh, but I would." He replies, smirking.

"Fine, but no judging until you hear it all."

"Alright, just out with it, already."

"You remember in Pa's office Brent said to give Paxton me in return for the farm?" he nods. "Well, he actually made me that offer."

"What!" He shouts.

"I'm not done. I made the deal. I was to marry him for the farm, to save everything. I just found out when he made the
offer he had a girlfriend. Which is why I'm mad and I called off the wedding. Somewhere along the way I fell for him." I add, as tears start falling.

"What the hell! Why wouldn't you tell us? I knew something was wrong. You'd never keep something like that from us, Pa especially."

"Yeah, now he won't talk to me." I cry harder.

"I know. He told us about the dinner. Not that I blame you for choosing Paxton over home. I couldn't even look at Ma, I know you can't either. She's walking around like she owns the town now that you're marrying Paxton. Or were marrying him. Hey look on the bright side she'll leave again, now that the engagement is off."

"I said the wedding was off, not the engagement."

"So, you are still going to marry him?"

I shrug, "I think so, I mean I think I love him."

"That is messed up. He forces you to marry him and you fall for him. Come on, A. You deserve better then that. Is he taking the farm back?"

"He says he will, but I know he won't."

"What makes you do sure?"

"Because he loves me."

"He loves you? He said that?" he questions, in disbelief.

"Yeah."

"He'll do it then. He'll take the farm to bring you back to him. If he said he loves you then he'll want you back anyway he can get you. Don't do it for us, we'll find a way."

"I did it for you guys to begin with, but not anymore. I swear to you, I love him." Saying it out loud with certainty opens a flood of emotion. When we pull into Trevor's driveway I'm emotionally overwhelmed, all I want to do is be alone to think.

"I'm going back to the farm to finish up some things, I'll be back later." I nod and jump out of the truck. I walk in and go to the couch laying down on its worn fabric. It still smells clean, I helped clean it when he picked it up second hand shop.

I pick up my phone, I want so badly to text or call him, but I know if I do I'll beg him to come get me. I wish he would have been honest with me. If it didn't mean anything why wouldn't he have told me to begin with? My phone beeps and my heart races.

I look and its a text from Paxton : PLEASE CALL ME! OR JUST COME HOME SO WE CAN TALK ABOUT THIS.

I don't know if I should respond or ignore it. After a few minutes I text him back, I'LL CALL, BUT I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU YET. I want answers first.

I'm about to call him but he beats me to it. I answer, "Paxton."

"I know I should have told you. I was wrong, please forgive me."

"Why didn't you? I know you didn't want to mess things up, but should've still told me. Instead, I found out and looked like a fool and worse." I mutter.

"I didn't think it would matter truthfully. If I wanted to be with her I would be, I only want you. I made a mistake, I'm going to make a lot of them. I want you to trust me, I'm not a cheater. I won't ever cause you to feel this way ever again."

I think that's why I'm so mad, he's the first man I ever trusted besides my brothers and Pa and look what he did. I take a deep breath, "I miss you already. As soon as that truck door closed I missed you, baby. I need you, I love you."

I start crying again, damn why am I so emotional. "I love you too." I hear a loud bang and hang up the phone. I look towards the door. Davy is standing there. My heart rate goes back to normal. "Hey, thanks for scaring me half to death. Trevor's not here he's up at the house."

"I know, I came to talk to you." He replies, coming into the room.

"Oh, what's going on?" I ask.

"I still want you, I have for a long time. I know you broke things off with Paxton. I came to ask you out."

"Davy, you think I'd just jump into another relationship? Listen, you're Trevor's best friend I care about you, but I'm in love with Paxton."

"I don't get it. He's a piece of shit, Addie. You're too good for him."

"You don't even know him. I'm engaged to him, so stop talking about him like that."

"You've never been with anyone outside of him." He replies, coming closer. I sit up.

"I don't need anyone else."

"One kiss, just one kiss and you can marry that jackass."

"I'm not going to kiss you. I'm still with Paxton, even if we're fighting." He takes the last step closing the gap and grabs my arm before I can step back. He takes my wrists in one hand. I pull but he's a lot stronger then me. I glare at him angrily.

"Just one." He says, dipping his head to me. I turn my head when his lips are about to touch mine.

"No, Davy."

He uses one hand to turn my head to his and kisses me. I keep my lips closed and his hands keeps me from turning my
head. He licks my lips trying to gain entrance. I refuse waiting for him to give it up. He brings his head back hovering over my lips, "Kiss me back." His eyes are heated, I shake my head no.

"Get the fuck away from her." I hear Paxton say, I try to turn to him but Dave is still holding my head.

"Were in the middle of something right now." Davy replies. He crushes me to him and whispers in my ear, "Tell him to go." I feel his erection on my belly.

"No. Let it go, Davy." I say, seriously. Paxton starts pulling me from Davy but he doesn't let go.

"Want a repeat of our last fight?" Paxton asks, getting even more angry.

"Why him? Now, the asshole who can buy anything, has everything."
