Harry’s POV
To say that I was expecting a little girl to be on the beach would be probably the biggest lie I had ever told. But she was a sweet little girl and really cute and fun. She did have this thing about her that made her seem wiser than her years, but she abandoned it when we got to play playground games. While it took a while, I was glad Peyton was able to get her to come join us.
Night had fallen upon us and the stars were covered from time to time by passing clouds. They seemed to increase as the night continued, and I wondered if would rain tomorrow, or later tonight. We all took refuge on the beach, too tired to walk back to the cave. For some reason, Emilee took a particular liking to Zayn, and he watched over her like a little sister, so she was sleeping next to him tonight.
I was looking down the row of sleeping bodies and noticed that one in particular was missing, more specifically, a female body. I started looking around the beach for her figure, and spotted her down by the shore. Of course, I couldn’t leave her awake all on her own, so I decided to go sit with her.
She was outstretched, her arms behind her back, supporting her weight, while she stared out at the vast ocean.
“Mind if I join you?” I questioned, which caused her to jump and almost fall backwards. I chuckled at her clumsiness, and she did as well.
“Yeah, Harry. As long as you don’t do that again.” She said, shifting her position so her legs were crossed in front of her.
“Deal.” I said, taking a seat next to her.
“So what are you doing all the way down here, and not sleeping like everyone else?” I inquired.
“You don’t miss a beat, do you?” She asked, chuckling because she already knew the answer.
She looked at me, probably waiting for me to answer, but I didn’t and she dropped her smile. Something was eating at her.
“I don’t know. I just wanted to think.” She said solemnly.
“About what? And don’t say nothing. You know I know you better than that.” I said, smirking a bit because I knew my words were right.
She sighed heavily and that was always her cue that she was about to confess things that she was bottling in.
“Do you ever get the feeling that something good and bad is going to happen at the same time?” She asked.
I nodded my head, but I was hesitant because I wasn’t entirely sure where she was going with this. She moved her head so she was looking at the sand, and held an emotionless look on her face.
“I just- I just have this feeling that everything is going to turn out great for everyone except me, and I don’t know why. I had these dreams that someone was taking Niall from me and he didn’t even care enough to fight back or to even look back at me. Just nothing. That’s part of the reason I was so resistant on us being together. What happens if my dreams come true? It’s just another heart break, but I caused it because I knew something like this would happen.” She said, holding a lot of depression in her voice.
