"Joe," I asked again. He looked at me and forced a smile. "Are you sure your alright?" I held onto his arm. Looking into his exhausted eyes. He forced a bigger smile.

Placing his hands on my shoulders he looked at me. "I'm alright Lyra. Are you hanging in there?" He asked me. He studied my eyes as he lowered his head a bit.

I swallowed looking away and then back at him. "I'm trying to."

He lightly smiled as he drew me in for a hug. I wrapped my arms around him as I closed my eyes and took a breather. These past 7 months had been torcher. I hadn't slept, hadn't ate much - which was unusual for me - and I couldn't think right.

I was getting more and more anxious with every day that went by. And every night, it was either the same nightmare again. Or a different one. I never seemed to put my mind to sleep.

"Take a deep breath." He softly instructed me as ran his hand down my long locks. Doing as told I finally took a step back. "Thank you Joe." I smiled at him. He smiled at me also, grabbed his jacket and bid me farewell.

Grabbing my coffee I chugged the rest down, threw away my cup and headed for S.T. A. R. Labs.

"Hey Caitlin." I smiled. She greeted me with a warm smile. I opened my mouth to speak but her mouth beat mine.

"Before you ask. No theres nothing new on Barry. Yes we've given him his daily doses. And no, he's not woken up." I closed my mouth.

She raised her light eyebrows, I had to admit. She was gorgeous. "Thanks?" I said unsure.

She chuckled and then turned back around to her computer doing whatever she was doing before.

"Hey Lyra!" Cisco's voice chirped as he walked around me poking me in the side. I laughed. "Hey weirdo." I smiled.

"Can I go check on Barry?" I asked with raised eyebrows. Cisco gave me the wave, letting me go on. Dropping my bags by the shared desks we all used I slipped off my annoying heels.

Walking in the medic room that they kept Barry in I slowly tiptoed in. "Hey," I smiled, brushing back the hair on his forehead.

"It's been a couple of days. And I - ugh." I huffed annoyed. "You get me all riled up and I get mad and upset for nothing." I chuckle. "You cant even hear me." I sighed.

"Actually, Miss Evans. He can." I turned to see Wells wheeling in.

I half grinned. "You've got to stop walking in on me talking to a wall Dr.Wells. Its getting embarrassing."

He lightly chuckled. "What do you mean?" I referred back to what he said a moment ago.

"We've recently figured out, that for some reason. Barry can actually hear what's all going on around him. He hears the tears, the yells. All of it." He glanced at me for a second as I felt heat come up my neck.

"This has pros and cons." I said.

He smiled. "Yes it does."

2 months later ~

"Ok. Jay, look." He smirked at me. I rolled my own eyes. "I don't know how many times I have to say this, but no."

"Oh come on. Lover boy wont be around. We can have some fun - "

"Excuse me?" I said shocked and disgusted. That made me hate him all the more.

I started walking away to go to the elevator. Jay followed me.

I finally turned around only to realize we were to close for comfort.

Too. Close.

I pointed at his chest, "You are the most disgusting, hypocritical playboy, JERK! I've ever seen in my entire life!" I raised my voice as I boarded the elevator. He looked hurt, and I honestly didn't care. He deserved it.

"Just leave me alone." I said annoyed as I rolled my eyes, stood against the wall and watched the doors close.

I breathed a sigh of relief once they did close. "Guy problems?" I shrieked.

Joe chuckled as he crossed his arms. "Joe! You nearly made me wet my pants." He laughed.

"I was about to jump in. Until you put him in his spot." He half smiled. "Atta girl."

I smiled as the elevator doors opened back up.

"See ya later Lyra."

"Bye Joe!"

Something was up, he seemed really happy. Not that I didn't want him to be happy! I just hadn't seen him that happy since before Barry got struck by lightning. And that was 9 months ago. It was hard for me to believe Barry had been in a coma that long, and I struggled with the thought again of him not waking up. But as the elevator doors opened I threw away my thoughts again, brushed myself off and forced a smile.

Writing down my notes from what happened at the crime scene I finished up, took out my SD card and put it back in my camera from the photos I'd downloaded.

Grabbing my nude pumps I got out of my roller chair and straightened my royal blue short dress as I loaded up my camera. Putting my heels in my bag I decided I would go barefoot since they were killing me again. Yup, they kill my feet but they do look dang good in them.

Zipping up my camera bag and making sure I had everything I heard the elevator ding again and remembered Joe said he was going to come by and pick me up since I accidentally wrecked my car last week.

Without looking up I said. "Oh hey Joe, can you grab - " Glancing up I froze as I dropped my bags. Looking up again I saw him.

His grin was as wide as the north pole separated from the south. "Hey Lyra." He couldn't stop grinning and I bit my lip as a grin grew onto my lips also.

Running at him I engulfed him in a hug as I jumped and threw my arms around his neck. He laughed, a sound Id been waiting to hear for so long. And squeezed me tight as he lifted me higher, grabbing me and swinging me around in circles.

I laughed. He laughed. I cried.

Dropping me down on my toes I looked into his eyes as he wiped away the tears from my cheeks, his lips curling up into the largest smile I'd ever seen him wear. "Your alive! I mean your here!"
I shrieked as I let my words fall out of my mouth.

It was silent for a millisecond as I took a short breath. "I missed you. So so so so much." Wrapping my arms around him he hugged me tight and brought me closer as he set his chin against the top of my head.

There was probably mascara lines all over my cheeks, but for once, I didn't care.

Wanna know why? Because my best friend, Barry Allen had just woken up and was alright.
