Dear who it may concern,
Years under the sun and stars
Make for the best friendships.
Friends built on vulnerability,
Shenanigans and responsibility-
There's nothing like them.
I have had the pleasure to have
A friendship like that.
And although we aren't conventional
Or ordinary,
Split by miles and miles of pavement
And fields of dead grass,
We are friends nonetheless. And you, my dear,
Are the very definition of beauty
In all the right ways.
You've taught me about emotion
And passion.
How sometimes we must burn
Our old selves
To discover our new selves.
Darling, you are plagued by
Social media and rude people
So might I say
(With all my heart and spirit)
That my love for you is brighter
Than the dying stars in the sky
That still twinkle fiercely
Even though their time is running out.
Not even kilometers of oceans,
However magnificent they are,
Could stop me from reaching you.And so I watch these days
slowly progress to years.
And I watch how we change
With every obstacle that's thrown
Our way.
We shrink and grow.
Shrink and grow.
Shrink and grow.
Expanding our universe.
Learning and experiencing.
And before we know it,
Life collapses back in.
And we shrink.
But even those dark times
Cannot take the adventures we lived.--------
In dedication to my lovely best friend, Robyn. Thank you.
