I entered my house on Tuesday afternoon with an exhausted sigh. I had just gotten home from school and I was mentally and physically drained.

The night before I had started watching the newest season of American Horror Story on Netflix and I lost track of time.

One minute it's six o'clock and I tell myself I'm only going to watch a couple of episodes, and the next minute it's four am, everyone is dead, and Jimmy and Dot are having a baby.

Looking back on it now, I guess I shouldn't have started the season on a Monday night. Oh well.

I would have been fine had my coffee maker decided to work correctly. Instead of boiling the water and making actual coffee, it just spouted out gross, lukewarm water that had a slight brown coloration in it.

Long story short, I needed a new coffee maker.

If that wasn't enough to already put me in a bad mood, Hanna was completely unbearable today. She locked me out of my own locker.

Yes, you heard right, she locked me out of my own locker.

Don't ask me how because I had yet to figure it out, but somehow, she broke into my locker and changed the combination.

It wasn't a locker where you brought your own lock, no, it was a locker with the lock built in. Combinations are given to students with the locker number.

I was more confused than anyone.

I trudged into my kitchen, simultaneously kicking off my shoes. I went to my refrigerator and opened it. The shelves were bare, except for the milk jug with one drink left in it, cheese slices, and some mushy tomatoes. My freezer looked about the same, with only a box of fish sticks that my dad bought the last time they were here and no one ever ate. Fish sticks were horrible.

I crossed my fingers and opened my pantry, but sadly it was empty as well. There was a box of saltine crackers, and a lot of cans. Some were chicken noodle soup, some were tomato sauce, and some were canned vegetables.

I sighed and came to the conclusion that I would need to go shopping. I let out a groan of frustration. I really didn't want to go back into the public world. I was planning on just eating and watching more Netflix until I fell asleep.

Begrudgingly, I walked back out of the kitchen and picked up my shoes, returning them to my feet.

I grabbed my keys and my purse, placing my wallet inside of it. I made my way outside into the crisp fall air and got into my car. I immediately turned my heater on full blast and let my car warn up slightly before I pulled out of my driveway and started the short trip to the grocery store.

I lived about ten to fifteen minutes from the store, depending on traffic, and today the roads seemed fairly empty.

I pulled into a parking space in front of the food market and got out. I shivered when I felt that the wind had picked up and zipped my jacket closed. After locking my car, I dropped my keys into my purse and went inside.

I grabbed a cart and started making my way through the isles. It didn't take long for me to fill it up, since I needed to restock pretty much everything. I'd gotten milk, eggs, bread, frozen pizzas, three tubs of ice cream, hot pockets, and other things.

Just the usual.

I was standing in the bakery section, debating over whether I should buy a pack chocolate cookies, or a chocolate mousse pie. I was in the ending days of my period and my cravings were so strong, they were taking over my every day life. I ended up shrugging and stuffing both items in my cart.
