I woke up to the sound of someone's steady breathing right next to my ear. I furrowed my eyebrows and squinted my eyes open.

A small gasp escaped my mouth when I saw where I was.

Jaxon and I were pressed together, laying across my couch. He was lying on his back and I was on my stomach, half against his side, half on top of him.

My cheeks felt boiling hot as I further analyzed the situation. My baggy t-shirt had risen up, leaving about four inches of skin uncovered. It didn't help that Jaxon's arm was wrapped around the exposed area.

His breathing remained steady and I glanced around, looking for a way to escape before he woke up. I noticed that the tv had been turned off and the mess of food that had been on the coffee table was cleaned up.

I carefully placed my hand on the couch next to Jaxon and lifted myself up. My only options were to jump over the back of the couch or climb over Jaxon. Neither sounded very easy, but throwing myself over the couch and onto the hardwood floor sounded slightly more unpleasant than the other option.

As quietly as I could, I placed my hands on either side of Jaxon and slowly lifted my right leg over him. He shifted in his sleep and I froze, waiting for him to fall back asleep. When he stopped moving I let out a small breath of relief.

My eyes ran over his face. Even sleeping, he was flawless, which I completely resented. Some people didn't have to try at all. His hair was a mess, but it only enhanced his attractiveness.

I shook the thoughts from my head and started to move myself off of the couch, and off of Jaxon.

"This is and interesting way to wake up."

My gaze shot to Jaxon in surprise. His eyes were barely open, but I could see the amusement in them along with his playful grin. His voice was thick with sleep and a layer of goosebumps covered my skin.

"Uh," I bit my lip.

I didn't know how to explain the fact that I was pretty much straddling him. He ran a hand through his hair and raised an eyebrow.

"Not that I'm complaining, but why are you on top of me?" His grin widened.

I let out a short laugh. "I was trying to get up without waking you." I told him.

He shrugged. "Fine by me."

I rolled my eyes and stood up. I made my way into the kitchen and grabbed my phone from the counter. It was barely after 7 am and I yawned as I made my way to the refrigerator.

"Thanks for cleaning up the mess." I said to Jaxon who was standing in the doorway.

"It wasn't a lot to clean up." He shrugged.

"Are you hungry?" I turned to him. "There's cold pizza and hot pockets." I wiggled my eyebrows.

"Who could say no to an offer like that?" He said as he walked over to me.

For the next half hour we sat at the bar in my kitchen eating. When we were done, Jaxon revealed that he needed to go home and get ready for school.

"I'll see you in class." He said as he walked out of my front door.

I waved to him. "See you then."

"Okay, everyone settle down. I'm talking." Mrs. Ryden said as everyone took their seats. "Today, we'll be working with clay."
