Abigail's POV

The sound of the running water in the tunnel filled my ears again as I slowly faded in and out of consciousness. I could also hear Khaleesi's slow breathing as she lie beside me, her eyes staring up at the slight light drifting into the tunnel. Shadows moved across the walls, resembling the figures of ghosts among us. I couldn't help but wonder if the shadows actually were the spirits of those that I had killed, those that I couldn't seem to remember.

As much as I knew how much I would hate knowing, I wanted to know. I wanted to remember. I would take the good with the bad, but I knew that Elijah would always stand beside me. He would hold me the nights that I couldn't take it anymore, just like I would hold him on his most devilish nights. That's apart of love, unconditional love at least. I would always take him for what he is and I prayed every night that he would do the same for me.

The screeching hinge of a metal frame soared throughout my sore ears as I clutched my hands around the sides of my head. I clenched my teeth hard in my jaw, anxiety quickly filling my body. Mikael was here again. I forced my eyes open as I looked towards the other end of the tunnel. Slowly, a shadow approached us, his face not quick to reveal itself.

"Hello girls," Mikael smiled as he kicked cold water towards us. I sat up in the water and glared up at him. The child inside of me wanted to throw a palm of water up towards his face, but I decided to refrain and continued to glare up at him. "Mikael," I choked, my throat as dry as the dirt at the bottom of this tunnel once was.

"I know that you girls think that I'm here to kill you, but I have to say, you're entirely wrong...." he smiled as clasped both of his hands together. Khaleesi rolled over onto her side and joined me in glaring at him. "Bore us some other day with your dramatic tactics Mikael," she spit as she rolled her eyes at him.

"Girl," he said sternly, "do you know who you're talking to?" Khaleesi laughed slightly, gently shaking her shoulders along with each stifled laugh. Mikael looked to me in confusion and disbelief, and then back at a laughing Khaleesi. "I believe the question is...." Khaleesi smiled, "do you know who you're talking to?"

"I am Mikael-!" Mikael began before Khalessi threw up a single finger in the air as if to pause him, "Mikael Mikaelson, yes we know...." She let out a brief groan and lowered herself back down to the cold watery concrete below us.

"You make a joke of me," he whispered, "but I have a joke for you. Or more like a trick really....but not quite a fun one." Khaleesi lied beside me as still as a rock, not caring for what Mikael had to say. "I brought a witch...." He smiled with a brief shrug.

The recurring screeching of the metal door hinge returned as the floor beneath us vibrated slightly. We felt another powerful presence enter the tunnel as she shifted towards us. Her skin was rich and dark but her eyes were illuminated in the darkness.

The edge of her dress spread across the water, immediately browning with the dirt. She smiled kindly at us. More anxiety grew in my chest. What could Mikael possibly need with a witch?

"Girls," Mikael smiled, "meet Margot Bennett. One of the most powerful witches in the south." Khaleesi turned her head slightly to look up at Margot, who returned the look. "Abigail," Margot nodded towards me, "and Khaleesi."

"Why is she here?" I groaned, my eyes shooting like a fire towards Mikael. A wide smile spread across his face as he placed a gentle hand on Margot's shoulder. "Well," he whispered, "she's here to help me out, and you out in a way too I suppose...."

"How is she going to help me out?" I questioned, looking Margot up and down. She kept her eyes on mine, never turning away from me once. "Let's just say that she'll help you remember a thing or two...."

"Really?" I asked, my anxiety fading for just a second. Then I remembered that somehow she would be helping Mikael at the same time, in whatever way I wasn't sure. "Margot," he said as he gestured towards me.

"This will hurt a little...." she smiled devilishly, "or a lot." In a matter of seconds it was as if my life in that tunnel was flipped upside down and thrown into a completely other dimension. A severe pain soared through my skull as I clutched it with burning hands.

Burning hands; my body felt like it was on fire. Every inch of my being was flaming through space, a throbbing pain then replacing the burning in my nerves. I would rather be thrown into a pit of fire than be wherever I am or whatever I am.

A darkness took over my eyes and suddenly everything went black. It was as if my sight had been stolen from me and tossed away into a sea of forgetfulness. Then a piercing sound shred through my ears, my eardrums vibrating.

I screamed as loud as I can, until I couldn't scream anymore. My own screaming began to numb my hearing and vibrate my cells. I hitched a deep breath in my chest, the air that I swallowed burning like an acid in my throat.

And suddenly like a tornado in the Midwest, it just stopped. Everything came to a sudden halt. My body was no longer floating through an invisible space and instead I was thrown to another concrete floor. My eyes which were once clenched together flung open, revealing an open sky in front of me.

I was no longer in the tunnels of New Orleans. No, I was somewhere completely unfamiliar. My wet, dirty clothes had been replaced with fresh, beautiful linens stretched across my pale skin. I rose from the concrete ground and stood up onto my feet.

The sky was clear, not a cloud in sight while acres of ocean water was outstretched before me. I stood at the edge of concrete steps that led down the cliff to the edge of the sea. While it was beautiful and much more welcoming than the stale tunnels of New Orleans, I couldn't help but miss being within a certain radius of Elijah.

I was hoping that he would rip me out from this other dimension and pick me up, hold me against his chest and carry me away. He's all that I wanted. He's all that I needed.

A subtle cough came from behind me, jerking me away from my thoughts of Elijah. I spun around on my heel, looking towards this new presence. A tall, brooding man stood before me. His hair was dark and curled and his eyes as dark as the ocean waves a dive away.

"Abigail," he murmured, his voice soft and kind. I stood in front of him, my chest rising and falling calmly. I wasn't afraid of him. I was perfectly okay. I was calm.

"H-hello...." I stuttered, offering him a smile. He tilted his head slightly while narrowing his eyes, as if he was confused. He smiled again and took a step towards me, running his finger along my chin.

I stared up into his eyes as his lips curled into one last smile. He bit slightly down on his bottom lip as he leaned forward and placed his warm
lips against mine. I moved my lips with his as my hands naturally crawled up his chest to the base of his neck. He pressed his hands against my waist and pulled me closer to him as he wrapped me up in his arms. He smiled slightly into the kiss, a sudden wave of nostalgia over washing me.

Like a bolt of lightning, it struck me. I remembered him. I remembered this. "One day," he whispered as he pulled away from the kiss, "when this world is more advanced and history is written, they'll tell the...."

"-History of us...." I finished as I looked up at him. He smiled warmly again as he ran his fingers down my cheek, pulling me in for one last kiss. "They'll tell the history of us, Silas...."
