part 6-ROMANCE IN THE AIR AND SURPRISES FOR SAIN

19 oct,a day which holds a lot of importance in my life
A day which gave me my best friend,
My bro...
Hussain!!!!

Hussain's birthday was a day away and i simply had no idea what to plan for him.I was in a totally confused state

Everyone had planned out their surprises and yet no one was willing to share their ideas about what they had planned for Hussain

The only thing that i knew about is a birthday party all of us had planned to do for him.The plan was laid out...all we had to do was get in action

Waqas and Atif had offered to help in the decorations
Ammi and Abbu were to go out with Hussain
Khadeeja had taken the responsibility of baking a cake
Maha,was taking out Hussain as well

Thinking on what to do about a gift for Hussain,my thoughts were interrupted by a tap on the shoulder.Upon looking up,it was Khadeeja standing beside me

Well,she had her gift ready for Hussain but....surprise hai!!!!
She came and sat beside me and smiled at me

I returned back her smile and for a moment i felt like drowning in her beautiful eyes
Unknowingly i laid my head in her lap...though we were only friends and really not in love with each other but i found peace whenever i placed my head in her lap

Mujhe ho kya gaya hai?????
What is happening to me????

Khadeeja asked me where i was lost and i told her about not having planned a gift as yet for Hussain

She smiled at me then said
"Dont worry mr hubby,you and i will give Sain a gift together...."
I was astounded

But khadeeja,that gift has specially been planned by you for  Sain....how can you share it with me what you have planned for him???? I asked her

Her reply really touched my heart....
"So what,we are a couple and friends as well...what difference does it make if i plan it and we give it together???I would be very happy if we gave him this gift together."

I smiled at her gesture of kindness and she smiled back at me.She told me to get up so that she can show me the gift that she had planned for Sain

She went and opened the cupboard and removed a huge frame
She carefully carried it and placed it on the bed where i was sitting

It was beautiful
Really beautiful
Khadeeja had made a collage of Sain's pics on a poster-board
From the time he was born,he took his first step,he talked,his first birthday,first day at school,graduation and all his pics till date

She had even made the name HUSSAIN with thin letters made out of thermocol and had glitter on them

She had the whole collage framed
I had tears in my eyes as a lump formed in my throat
"Khadeeja,this is really beautiful.Thank you so much for doimg this for Sain."

Ever since i have got married to Khadeeja,she has always taken my family as her own
Never complained even once that i am being unfair to her because i have not really fulfilled all my duties as her husband

"Khadeeja,can i please get a hug???"

She looked at me and we hugged each other very tightly

Khadeeja pov
Tomorrow was my devar's birthday
Hussain,i found my brother and a devar as well as a very good friend in him

I had planned a surprise for him as a gift and had even planned to bake him a cake
I entered the room when i found Shehry sitting on the bed totally lost in his thoughts

I went and tapped him on the shoulder...he looked at me
I smiled at him and he smiled back
He gradually placed his head in my lap and told me all about him having no idea on what to give Hussain for his birthday

I told Shehry that we should give Sain the gift that i have planned for him as a couple
At first Shehry denied saying that i am the one who has planned for it and it would not be fair on his part if he would give a gift to Sain that he had not lent a helping hand in.

I finally convinced him and then went to fetch the gift i had planned for Sain to show it to Shehry
It was a collage that had all of Sain's pics on a poster board
I had had it framed as well

I was very nervous as to what Shehry would think about my gift for Sain
He looked at me with tears welled up in his eyes
He told me a thank you for doing all this for Sain and he really appreciates it

He looked at me and said....
"Khadeeja,can i please get a hug???"
I looked at him and hugged him very tightly in a deep embrace never meant to be broken

My birthday!!!!!

The surprising fact was that no one had wished me so far
How comes????
I hope no one has forgotten my birthday

I woke up from the bed and upon glancing at the wall clock
Yikes!!!!!!!!
10:30a.m
I had woken up so late
Chal beta Sain,aaj tumhe birthday wishes nahi par ammi aur abbu ki gaaliyaan zarur milne wali hai der se uthne ke liye

I selected a blue shirt and a pair of denims and rushed to the bathroom
After 15 minutes of scrubbing myself clean in the bathroom,i wore my clothes and rushed out

I combed my hair and applied some perfume and rushed down the stairs hurriedly
I thought my family will wish me but nobody even said a word when i went to the dining table

I said a good morning to everyone and abbu looked at me really angrily for being late
Bhabhi came and smiled at me and served me breakfast
Aloo ke parathe!!!!!!

I glanced at Shehry who smiled at me and did not even say a word at all
Has everyone forgotten that today is my birthday????
Looking at everyone implied easily that everyone had forgotten my birthday

I eventually grew sad and slowly by slowly stuffed the paratha in my mouth
