Michael's POV

I look at my phone. 3:35pm.

Shes a no show.

I knew it. I knew this would happen to me.

Why do I always get my hopes up?

I fucking hate myself.

Just as I'm about to get up and leave. I see her.

She's standing there.

Looking at me.

I debate on going to see her or walking away because she let me sit there all alone for 40 minutes.

Next thing I know I'm walking towards her.

"I'm sorry." She says.

"For what?" I ask.

"Being so late. The traffic was so bad Michael. I tried to get here as soon as possible."

"Why were you just standing here then?"

"Because I was afraid."

"Afraid of what?"

"Afraid that you might hate me."

"Sam, I'd never hate you. Now, are you ready to start this hangout?" I ask.

She smiles a small smile.

"Yes."

We head to where I was sitting earlier.

I ask if she wants a tea or coffee or anything and she tells me her order and I go get it.

Once I sit back down she is smiling.

"What?" I ask.

She points upstairs to a big sign that says
'Larry's laser tag'.

I smile too.

We head to the stairs and try to get there as quick as possible.

When we have our vests on and our laser guns we head inside the maze.

There's about 5 other people with us, so we decide to team up and go against all of them.

I'm hiding behind a wall and Sam takes out 2 people. Nice.

"Quit hiding dummy, come help me." She says.

I run to another wall and take out one person. This is easy.

As soon as I think those words my vest lights up and turns red.

Damn. I got shot.

"Sam I'm out!" I yell.

"You suck!" She yells back.

I have to wait a whole minute before I can get back into the game.

Finally my vest turns blue and I run up to Sam.

"I'm back, let's do this."

"3 minutes remaining." A voice on the intercom says.

I decide to go try hard mode and I shoot 2 people.

Fuck yeah.

I run across the maze and shoot another person.

"2 minutes remaining."

Sam's out and it's up to me.

I find someone hiding behind a wall and I rush right past them and shoot them as quick as I can.

They get out and groan.

I smug.

The last person alive is hiding.

I sneak through the maze and find him.

I shoot really quick.

"Game over. Team 1 wins."

Sam comes to run up to me.

"YAS WE DID IT!" She yells as she pulls me in for a hug.

I hug her back and we exit the maze.

"That was sooo fun." She says.

I do the bravest thing that I could ever do.

As we walk I slip my hand into hers and interlock our fingers.

I wait for her to pull away but she doesn't.

That makes me feel warm inside.

We walk.

All we do is walk.

I don't know where we're going.

I don't want to stop. I don't want to stop walking because that means I'd have to let go.

I don't want to let go.
