It feels like hours that the tributes spend getting cleaned up, waxed and poked and prodded until they're beautiful or handsome enough to be seen by the Capitol residents. After all, they want to see victors, not starving teenagers.

Piper waits, her arms crossed over her furry chest as she watches the other tributes pass by her with their stylists. Persia peeks around the corner of her prep room, a little breath of relief leaving her lips.

"Oh good," she mutters.

"What?" the cat wonders.

Persia smirks. "After the amount of waxing I just went through to remove the hair from my body, I worried that they would shave you."

"Nope, they just shampooed and conditioned me like a show puppy." She sighs.

Persia glances around once more, as if waiting for the stylist to stop them from conversing too much.

"So...you found that girl yet? Madison?"

"Not yet," she responds. "I want to talk to her before the chariots roll."

The seventeen-year-old nods once more. "See you out there."

She disappears, her brunette hair arcing in a slight wave before she disappears.

"They freaking buffed my shell, Sofie. They turtle-waxed it! They-" Yumiko rants.

Sofie holds her paw up, silencing her partner. "Well, at least they didn't shampoo and condition your fur to within an inch of its life."

"And these costumes..."

"I know."

They look down at their coal miner outfits, made to fit their bodies in a sexy way. Yumiko, of course, being a turtle, feels as though she looks ridiculous anyways. The crowns made to look like coal with a light as the jewel at the front and the tasteful ash smudges don't help.

The two girls look up, watching everyone else as they ready themselves.

Kayla and Breach are adorned in dresses that seem to be made of jewels, mainly rubies and sapphires dotting the silvery material. Raphael and Scarlet wear outfits made to look like stone kilns, something the red-masked turtle is rather verbal in his distaste for.

"I look like a brick wall," he hisses. "And your skirt is see-through! I'm not letting anyone see my little sister like that!"

Scarlet sighs, nearly half her face covered by the fake stone chimney. "Raph, our lower half will be covered by the chariot. Relax." She smiles and pokes his bicep lightly. "Besides, you look super tough. Strong and unbreakable. Girls like macho guys."

"Girls like humans."

Scarlet looks over the other tributes, her eyes falling on District 6. The two girls are dressed in army green outfits with the fake long treads of tanks draped over their arms. The girl with sleek black hair is already looking at them, or more specifically, Raphael.

"What about her?" Scarlet whispers. "The District 6 girl...I can't remember which is Taylor and which is Kaitlin."

Raphael looks up, meeting her hazel eyes. She smirks and waves, winking. His eyes widen, his cheeks growing red.

"That one's Taylor," he answers Scarlet's statement.

"And she's making your mask and your face blend," the pale brunette teases.
