Mia's POV
"Mike, I'm glad we had gotten a chance to hang out," I smiled toward him. "It's not everyday that we get to see each other."
"I know," Mike nodded. "It's complicated."
"I know," I sighed. "I mean, my mom, she's still ill."
"You should be at home, taking care of your mom," Mike replied as he looked at me.
"Mom told me to come and spend our eight month anniversary with you," I smiled. "She didn't want me in the house taking care of her knowing my brother could do that."
"Speaking of which, I got you a present," Mike smiled. He handed me a box. I opened it and it was a bracelet. The anchor charm stood out. "I know how much anchors mean to you." He got the bracelet out of the box. "When I saw this, I knew I had to get it for you."
"Thank you, Mike," I smiled as he put the bracelet on me. His phone started ringing. He got it out, and it was that weird looking one he's had since he was fifteen. He looked at me and hung up. "Okay."
"Sorry, Mia, it's family business," Mike replied. "You know how it is."
"Go," I nodded. "It's okay. We have plenty of other times." Mike took off. "I just wish you weren't called on our anniversary date." I went home and walked through the front door. Mom was still in her hospital bed in the living room. "Hi Mom."
"Baby? What are you doing home?" Mom asked as I stood at the end of her bed. "I thought you were with Mike."
"Family problems," I nodded. "He took off." Mom started coughing. I rushed to the side of her bed and gave her the water bottle. "Here." She took a sip. "Mom, don't you think it's time to step down from your duties as a Samurai?"
"No," she nodded. "Not yet."
"Alright," I sighed, respecting her wishes. "I'm going to go to the park and breathe some fresh air." I went back to the park and started walking. I smiled just looking at the bracelet Mike had given me. I heard a weird noise behind me. I turned around and it was a horrible looking creature. "Oh no." Five people in suits: one red, one blue, one yellow, one gold, and one green. "The Samurai Rangers..."
"Leave her alone, nighlok," the red ranger. "This is our fight."
"Are you okay?" asked the gold ranger.
"I'll be fine," I nodded. The green one helped me up. "Thank you."
"I'll make sure she gets home safe," said the green ranger.
"Go," the yellow ranger nodded. "We got this."
"Come on," said the green ranger. He followed me to my home. "Glad you made it home alright."
"Thanks to you," I smiled. I kinda recognized his voice but it was a little hard to tell with the helmet. "I don't even know your name."
"Don't sweat it, Mia," he replied. I looked at him. "Gotta go."
He left. "How'd you know my name?" I asked. I walked inside the house and looked at Mom from the foot of her bed. "Mom, I was just brought home by the green ranger."
Mom smiled, "He's a lot closer to you than you think, sweetheart."
"Both you and the green ranger are creeping me out right now," I nodded. I walked into the kitchen to there was a nighlok. "Mom!"
"Your mother's too ill to help," he replied.
Mike ran in holding a Samurai sword. "Leave her alone, nighlok," Mike stated as he held up his sword. The nighlok disappeared. Mike's sword disappeared and he helped me up. "Are you okay?"
"I should've known," I replied as I looked at him. "When the green ranger brought me home, that was you, wasn't it?" Mike nodded. "Mike, why didn't you tell me?"
"Would you believe me if I told you I was a Samurai?" Mike asked.
"Yes," I giggled. He was confused. "Mike, we have a lot more in common than you think." I unclipped my small Zord from the back of my pants and showed it to Mike. "I'm the next Pink Samurai whenever my mom decides to give up her duties."
An arrow hit the island. "Looks like she decided to do that now," Mike smiled as he pulled the arrow out of the island. He looked at me as he threw it away. He held out his hand. "We can do this together."
"Mike, you should get going," I nodded. "I'll show up at the Shiba house myself so the other don't suspect anything and we could pretend to be surprised." Mike left. "Time to pack my bags." I went to my room and packed my pink backpack and my cheetah print backpack. I put the pick one of my back and carried my cheetah one. I walked to the living room. "Mom, thank you."
"Be careful," Mom nodded.
"I will," I smiled. I went to the Shiba house. A guy wearing jeans and a red shirt stopped me. "You must be the red ranger, Jayden."
Jayden smiled, "Everyone's in the training room. Come with me." I followed him to the inside training room. "Guys, the Pink Samurai is here. Emily's the yellow, Antonio's the gold, Kevin's the blue, and the green is -"
"Mike?" I asked, cutting Jayden off.
"Mia?" Mike asked.
"You two know each other?" Emily asked.
"Are you kidding?" Mike asked as he put his arm around me. "We grew up together!"
"And this is Mentor Ji," Jayden smiled as a guy walked in.
"Mentor," I replied. I bowed in front of him. "It's an honor."
"Mia," Mentor Ji stated. I looked at him. "You don't have to do that." I was confused. "Your mom was always old fashion. I'm glad she said it was time for us to bring you in."
"Yeah, we're kinda useless without our Turtle Zord," Kevin replied.
"I'm here now," I smiled. "What's my first mission?"
