Buses and beach walks, Auto's and Heart-to-heart talks!

You chose the greater good and travelled for yonder;

Leaving me behind, to reflect and ponder!

Outside I hear a low rumble of thunder,

And it is at your feet that I willingly surrender!

For just about everything I have a memory associated with you;

I cherish it all, though the times we spent were few!

You flicked your wand and happily made me anew!

However much I regret not contacting you,

I will always be happy that it was you I knew;

Glad that those memories were created solely with you!

I won't pretend, for you I'd be bad,

But the fact that "We" no longer exist makes me sad!

You loved to make me mad and be infuriating,

And as I tried to figure you out, you were just so frustrating!

You made me want to rip my hair out by my hand,

And at the same time,

You make me want to write our names down on the sand!

Though I know how much you love to trick,

For you I'd still be hopeful and romantic!

Years pass by and I distinctly remember your face,

How you made me laugh, scream and cry;

I pray to God for just one more try,

But instantly wonder if I'm quite the mental case!

I still dream of those buses and beach walks,

Of those autos and entertaining talks!

I think of those word games and the adorable kids,

Of leaders, bets and the highest bids!

I think of you and my mind travels back to one afternoon,

In a nice, happy, crazy monsoon!

I fervently pray for one last drive,

For one last sunlit ride,

And just, maybe just another Ping Pong game!

I've since learned to steel myself and be brave,

Even though every fiber of my being protests that it's you I crave!

My heart I'd given to you on an endless lease,

But you managed to escape, though we aimed to please!

That you're the one I'm very sure,

I just can't seem to find the right cure!

I heart wrenchingly hope for some closure,

But I know at the bottom of my heart,

These memories I'm just going to have to treasure!
