Maice pulled out a book from inside the side desk next to the hospital bed and checked the time. "Twelve twenty, huh?" She groaned. Evan was now softly snoring, the blankets pulled up over her chin. Maice flipped open the book and started reading. "Ugh, stupid nonfiction. So boring!" She exclaimed, almost waking Evan. She turned in her chair, trying to get comfortable. She ended up dangling her head from the seat and putting her legs up on the back, reading. Tilly kept licking her face, though. "Tilly, go find it! Where's the hat?! Go get it!" She'd say, Tilly would waltz around the room then give up, coming back to lick her face. Maice finally pointed at Evan, and Tilly stared at her. Maice had set her hat on Evan's head, which made Tilly whine. "You know you've never beaten her, Tilly. She deserves that hat." Maice said, stroking her. Maice yawned and threw the book aside. "I like our little conversations, Tilly." Maice said as she slid down on the floor next to Tilly. She laid in between the hospital bed and Tilly, Tilly's breath keeping her toasty. "Your a good dog, Tilly." Maice rubbed her stomach as she rolled over slightly, revealing the mats and tangles is her fur. Maice played with the fur, yanking out knots and tugging on mats. Tilly whined slightly when her skin was pulled and Maice would take a break and give her a pat. "Your a good dog."
