America's POV:
Maxon put my hand in his and led me to our destination. We walked down corridors and climbed stairs, and a light breeze blew my hair back as we got to where he was taking me."You can take your blindfold off." he said. I could hear the excitement in his voice as I untied the knotted piece of fabric that was covering my eyes.
We were on the roof. I smiled, feeling the breeze on my face, and looked for Maxon.
He was standing at my feet, down on one knee, with a beautiful ring in the box in his hand. I gasped, putting my hands over my mouth and willed the happy tears to go away.
"America, I can't say that I knew you were the one when I first met you. I was mesmerized by you, but not in love. But, as time went by, I grew to love every bit and piece of you. Your stubbornness, your selflessness, your kind heart, everything. You are the epitome of all things good. We've had some rough times, a lot of them, but they have made us stronger. I want to be with you for the rest of my life; I want to have children, watch them grow, and grow old with you. America Singer, I will love you until the end of time. Will you marry me?"
I let the tears of joy fall and nodded, holding my hand out. "Yes." I whispered. He put the ring on my finger, and I pulled him into a hug. "Yes. I love you."
Whew! That was emotional! I just want to thank you all for reading and commenting and voting and supporting me! I'm actually really sad to finish this story, it's never felt like a chore or duty, and that's what I love about writing. I don't think I'll be very active on this account in the future, but you never know. I'll still leave it up and check in once and a while, but my main focus will be on my main account: emmalmgren13 . I'm working on two new books and my current fanfic, The Queen, so if you want to read more of my work, that's the place to go! Thank you all so much!
