For Shakespeare
How the sound of the bass assaults my ears
reminds me of how you kissed me in july
sudden strong and erasing all my fears
your large hand afterwards tracing my thigh
I remember sitting in the backseat
The music was quiet until that song
your truck filled with friends headed for the beach
That beat that stayed in my head all day long
The vibrations bounced around in my chest
your reflection in the rearview a blur
the thumping of my heart beneath my breast
I never thought once I would become her
We sit in your back seat with the bass up
A love with vibrations in your pickup...
