Kiss For Luck.(Narumiya Mei)

-This was requested a while back, but since I finished the characters of Seido, I will now be taking requests from any team! Enjoy!-

"This match is going to be a tough one, so all of you need to be in the practice mound for as long as you can for the upcoming weeks." Coach Kunitomo barks out as he focuses on the team in front of him.

You are listening carefully to what the coach had to say while folding away the towels for the next day. You've been a manager for quite some time now, and everything seems perfectly normal. However, their next opponents are from Seido. You know exactly how much Narumiya wants to win this time.

"Seriously?" he groans before running his hand through his blond hair.

Even with the burning desire to win against them, he still dislikes training for too long. But the whole team knows that he will be the one that trains the hardest and longest during the next few weeks. He may be a very arrogant pitcher on court, but that makes him the strong pitcher that he is of today. You are proud of him for getting this far in the tournament, but you cannot help but worry about how he is going to carry himself through this season. You've seen him break down once, and you seriously do not want to witness it again.

You want to protect him at all costs because he is someone very dear to your heart. Ever since you both were children, you stuck to each other like glue. Even now, you are almost inseparable. You wouldn't say that you were friends, because your relationship stems much deeper than that. However, you cannot say that he was your boyfriend either. It is pretty complicated, but you trust that everything will work out soon. Luckily enough, you both lived right next door, so that gives you plenty of time to work up the courage to get even closer to him.

"Are you nervous for the next match?" you say casually as you attempt to start a small conversation.

"Nope. I know I can beat them." he answers with a big and confident grin before flashing you a thumbs up.

"I don't think I'll be able to make it to support you guys tomorrow." you mumble regretfully and Narumiya's head instantly shoots up in alarm.

"Why? Did something happen?" he asks worriedly.

"Ah, I have a make-up test since I was out sick the other day. I'm sorry that I can't watch you guys play." you shrug.

"It's fine...I guess. Try not to get sick, we need our manager there for moral support." he coughs as a red tint begins to glow on his cheeks.

"I'm sure you'll miss me," you chuckle before turning towards him as you reach your house first. "But that doesn't give you an excuse to slack off and let your guard down. If you don't come back with a win, I'll punish you severely."

"Well, I definitely don't want that. Don't doubt me...idiot! I will win!" he shouts passionately.

"Good." you smile before turning your attention to your shoes as the conversations begins to fade away.

Just as you open your mouth to exchange farewells, you see him draw his face in whilst placing his hand on your cheek delicately. You feel his hands trembling slightly and remember that he probably has never done something like this before. You have to conceal a soft grin tugging at your lips as his own lips creeps closer. Your eyes flutter shut as your lips overlap his. Right then and there, everything around you dissolves from your mind as you exchange a soft and sweet kiss. Just as you break away, he flicks your forehead fondly with eyes sparkling with his usual mischief.

"A kiss for luck." he whispers.
