-This chapter is another one of many where I vent out my emotions. Things aren't so good with my family at the moment. Anyway, I don't want to be a downer! This oneshot has some sensitive elements that might hit home for some of you, so read at your own risks. Enjoy.-

Your fingers tap away on your keyboard as music pounds against your head. You are in the process of writing your feelings away, and it seems to be working as you remain calm and neutral. Even so, your innards twist painfully as the heavy emotions of guilt remain in the pit of your stomach. Even through the melody of your favourite song, you can make out the distant bickering going on in the next room. They aren't even considerate enough to keep their voices down, and you hear every single word of assault being thrown at one another. You want things to go back to the times where they didn't fight. No matter how naive and innocent you were during those days, at least everybody was happy.

Your lips tremble and your hands freeze over the letters. Why aren't you able to live a normal life? Everybody else around you seems to be loving their high school years, but you find yourself begging God to put an end to your eternal suffering. Every cell of your body is burdened with being alive. Your face clouds over with darkness, and the tears spill down your cheeks. You fight through another one of their fights alone, until you hear your phone ringing. You quickly silence it by answering it as you didn't want them to start picking on you.

"Hey (Your Name), it's me!" Haruichi's chirpy voice echoes through the receiver and your lips tug up a little at his voice.

He always had the capability to cheer you up no matter what the circumstances are. You muster up your sadness and try to sound as normal as possible when you respond.

"H-hey Haruichi, what's up?" you attempt to sound elated, but your thick voice is a dead give away.

"Have you been crying, (Your Name)?" he wonders softly.

"N-no! I'm just-" you begin to mumble, but his voice cuts you off immediately.

"(Your Name). Do you want to take a walk?" he suggests timidly and you glance towards your locked door nervously.

"Like right now? It's not really a good time for me," you whisper lowly. "Besides, it's way too late. My parents wouldn't let me go out."

"Well, I think it's okay to break the rules. Sometimes." Haruichi suggests again and you stare at the receiver for a solid minute in shock before repositioning it back near your mouth.

"What?! But you HATE breaking the rules. You always say-"

"I know what I say, (Your Name). But this is really important to me." he pleads, completely annoyed with you now.

You hesitate before sighing in defeat. "Fine, meet me outside my apartment."

You barely make it out on to the front porch without creating too much noise and having your parents chew you out. To make it worse, the night is chilly and you didn't have much time to put on something thicker. You clutch at your elbows as you bite your lips to avoid having to deal with your teeth chattering. In the distance, you hear the ruffling of shoes and turn around to see the pink-haired boy jogging towards you with flushed cheeks. He fixes his hair shyly before standing in front of you with his hands in his pockets.

"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" you question suspiciously. "You aren't planning to break up with me already?"

"What!? No!" he guffaws before breaking out into a bright grin. "I just wanted to take a walk with you, will you come with me? It won't be long, we'll just go around the neighbourhood."

"Wait. So you brought me out here just to take a walk?" you demand in disbelief.

He beckons at you with his hand outstretched towards yours. He tilts his head slightly before wriggling his fingers almost urgently.

"So are you saying you don't want to?" he teases and stifles his laughter as he witnesses one of your famous glares.

"I never said that." you grumble slightly before taking his hand.

He jumps back a little at how cold your fingers feel, and he doesn't hesitate to shrug off his hoodie before draping it over your shoulders. It feels cosy and warm, not to mention how it smells just like him. You sniff appreciatively before looping your arm through his, enjoying how bright his ears get when you do that. It's a very quite night. With each stride, your mind lets go of the things that burdened your mind. The evening breeze caresses your skin, and you close your eyes to take a deep breath of the dewy air. You don't even notice the prickling of tears under your eyelids until he points it out.

"(Your Name). Why are you crying?" he questions you worriedly, taking a step toward to comfort you.

Before his arms can wrap around your body fully, you pull away before turning around to quickly wipe away your tears. No matter how many times you swipe with your hand, the tears just continue to stream down helplessly, and soon you have your face buried in your arm, totally sobbing away. Haruichi watches you cry with a heavy heart before reaching over you to wrap you in a sweet embrace from the back. His chin rests on your shoulder and you feel his cool breath against your flushed neck. With him just being there for you, it helps. His presence has always been your medicine, even through the toughest times. He doesn't say anything anymore. He just waits. His quiet way of calming you down, that's what really separated you from other couples.

"I'm sorry, Haru-chan..." you hiccup when you finally calm down.

"Why are you apologising?" he hums.

"I'm always burdening you with my problems, I don't want you to get involved with that side of me."

"What are you talking about, (Your Name)? I love every side of you, good and bad." he confesses wholeheartedly. "So open up. Open your heart to me."
