Volunteers around the world
deserve a special day,
they work for endless hours
for this they receive no pay.
It was in 1985 that the United Nations designated December 5th as International Volunteer Day, this was done to make people aware of the contributions that volunteers and their organisations make in our world today. Every year hundreds of millions of people give their time and skills to help those less fortunate and to make the world a better place, these people need to be recognised and applauded.
