What not to do: Culture/Race
Okay first I'm gonna start this off simple: why is the main character always so basic?
Her name is always Kylie and is played by Lucy hale or some white actress, she's so basic it makes your blood boil.
I can't stand mainstream fanfics. Like can we have an African American, Indian, Native America, Asian, etc. character for once?
When I find a fanfic with a poc as the main character I literally flip the fuck out cause that's so rare and it just makes me happy.
When I read, one of the things I look for is unique/different characters. Don't be mainstream and pick a white chick that is exactly like every other character in the whole world, that wears crop tops, has straight blonde hair, is bullied by everyone, has a horrible home life, and cuts herself.
That's literally almost every story on wattpad. *cough* 5sos fanfics *cough*.
And I also hate that the character is described as beautiful to everyone. Bitch, if you wear crop tops and shorts and cut and everyone hates you and you ride a motherfucking penny board , I automatically hate you more than I hate Lizzy from Black Butler.
