It was months before another letter came. We had taken both Fort Snowhawk and Fort Hraggstad and our next stop was Solitude. We were going to go within the next week to kill General Tullius and kick the elves out of our land. I found Ulfric in the command tent outside of Solitude, reading this:
Dearest Ulfric,
I know that you never wrote back but I guess now that you're almost to my front door, I want to say goodbye. One of us is going to die soon and I don't know who I hope it is. I don't want you to die but... I can't die now. Not after this... But that won't stop your Stormcloaks from trying to kill me. I have heard of your general, Evanna Ice-Blood, how ruthless and brutal she is. I know that if she finds me, she will kill me without a second thought. We have lost so many to her and her men. Ulfric, there is something I have to tell you when I see you soon. I love you. May Talos preserve you, my love. Until we meet again in Sovengarde.
