Going to class the next day wasn't part of Michael's agenda, if he even had one, that is. His typical morning routine, was to wake up at the crack of dawn just to watch the sunrise. As cheesy as it sounds, he loved it.

The sun reminded him of Calum's eyes and how just a glimpse of that hazelnut beauty was enough to get him through the day, or how adorable his smile was or perhaps even the sound of his laugh whenever Michael would tell him a terrible joke.

It was always the small things; the small things that turned into big things and made him fall even more in love.

Seeing Calum's face wasn't exactly the easiest thing for Michael either. The kiwi boy looked sad, as if he had been crying the night before or didn't get any sleep at all. Michael wanted to do something, he was going to do something until -

"Hey sexy."

That was all he needed to hear from the brunette preventing his crush from moving. She looked like she put in an effort to look nice today, with her high waisted black shorts, 'American idiot' band tee, black combat wedges, a choker around her neck and tinted grey nail polish that was slightly chipping off but somehow still looked appealing.

He couldn't compare to her. She was beautiful and he was well, nothing. Hideous, ugly, and nothing. Many would disagree but in his head, he's the most disgusting boy to ever walk this earth.

Michael decided it would be best to just head to class, but he couldn't help but turn around to watch the sight in front of him. That agonizing pain that ached inside of his chest when seeing her lips planted firmly on his, he seemingly enjoying how much of an expert she was at kissing and the boy couldn't help but wish that he was the one making Calum feel that way.

He wanted to run away, but he just stood there and watched as his heart broke into pieces. The tears welling up in his eyes weren't enough to stop him from watching as he flirted back and seductively wrapped his arms around the brunette haired girl.

It should be him. It should be him.

But then Calum looked away for a moment and immediately noticed his best friend, causing Michael to panic and run to the nearest hideaway spot that he could think of, which awkwardly ended up being the janitors closet. It was better than the bathroom though, as that is where most people would check first.

He cried and wailed into the palm of his hands, not caring even the slightest that people outside just might be able to hear him. It didn't matter. Calum wasn't his, and that's why he allowed himself to cry throughout the day.

Luke: are you okay? I heard you crying earlier x

Michael: I'm fantastic? That most definitely wasn't me crying?

Luke: your a really bad liar

Michael: *you're, but thanks.

Luke: tell me what happened

Michael: ..calum was uh..flirting again.

Luke: with who this time?

Michael: some chick who totally looked emo

Luke: Michael, do not call people emo, ever. Labels are mean :-(

Michael: yet you call me gay

Luke: because that's what you are

Michael: still a label

Luke: OK....we're going off topic!!! Was she wearing a green day shirt?

Michael: yeah why?

Luke: her name is Kendall I think. She's a real player

Michael: well..sucks to be calum then I guess.

Luke: I think you should talk to him

Michael: no

Luke: yes your being stubborn

Michael: again, *you're. And no I'm not, he just doesn't like me okay?

Luke: ding ding you're wrong

Michael: okay

Luke: I'm going to tell him you like him
Michael: I swear I will shove my fist so far up your ass that you won't be able to walk for weeks. You better not

Luke: kinky (; jk but really I will if you don't do something about it..I'm tired of hearing you whine.

Michael: I will, eventually just not right now.

Luke: when?

Michael: when the time is right. Promise not to tell?

Luke: pinky promise.

Just knowing that he could trust his friend was nice. On the other hand, he also didn't trust him at all. It was weird and irritated the hell out of him but he knows Luke wouldn't do that to him.

Calum was spending time with his sister. It's been a while since they've actually had some downtime and decided it'd be best to watch a movie and gossip about people they hate.

She had been telling him about a girl who wants to fight her at school because she knows how to sing really well and is even "better than her." Calum even offered to tell the girl off for saying nasty things about Mali behind her back just because she beat her in the talent show.

It was unnecessary.

They were having a good time, until Mali went to use the restroom and the boy saw a message pop up on her phone.

Michael: Hey babe.

And seconds later, Mali came bursting through the door in fear while Calum looked angry, a little too angry and ready to completely, irrationally blow up.

"You're dating Michael?!"
