Chapter 15

Yelling followed by laughter surrounded me as I sat quietly observing the higher ranks of the Raven Pack engaged in a lively but highly competitive game of Scrabble. They played the game in pairs and I had declined to play the first round to observe the game. There were four teams of two that had Colin and Stanley, Celeste and Vicki (beta's mate), Dylan (beta) and Sanders, and Lily (Stanley's mate) and Missy (Sander's mate). I was not alone sitting next to Jason, who was single. He was filling me in on the personality of each player and how they played the game. Stanley and Lily was a surprise couple that I would have never guess would be so close to the higher ranking wolves. I found out that they were rouges and joined the pack a few years ago. I didn't get much, but I got the feeling that they were involved in the drama around the same time Colin found Celeste. I knew that something traumatic happened and whatever it was the pack was tight lipped on that time.

"You would be surprised to find out that the most competitive team is Celeste and Vicki. They play to win and enjoy beating people. We usually don't let them team up because they can be so intense." Jason's voice broke my train of thought and back to the game. I nodded my head that I was listening to him, but I had other things on my mind. I need to get back to the woods to retrieve my blood stained clothes. I needed to get to them before they track the scent. Once they find the dead body, trackers will be all over the area.

"Vicki that's not how you spell cigarette!" Dylan shouted.

"Of course it is."

"Aw come on, we're not stupid! Cigarette is not spelled C-I-G-A-R-E-T." Dylan growled leaning in to read the word his mate just put down.

"It is so a word. Are you challenging us?" Celeste grinned.

"Come on, you all see they are cheating." Dylan looked to the others for back up. "Sanders?"

"I don't know man, we shouldn't challenge them. If they are right, we lose a turn." Sander's shrugged eyeing the confidence of Celeste and Vicki.

Vicki raised her eyebrow and folded her arms, "You challenging us or what?"

"We can put a little wager on it?" Celeste rubbed her hands together with a sinister smirk on her face. Wow these people took game night seriously.

"Colin?" Dylan pleaded.

"Hey don't bring me into it. There is no way I'm challenging and losing another bet."

"Don't even look our way." Lily and Missy giggled shaking their heads.

"Damn! We need to stand up to them. Quit acting like scared little girls!" Dylan stared at his mate and partner, then threw an accusing glare at the other players. "I challenge the word!"

"Babe you sure, you need to think twice." Vicki leaned towards Dylan reaching out to rub up his arm.

"Dammit, I said I challenge the word! And no bet!" Dylan push his mate's hand off his arm and reached over for the dictionary. Dylan flipped through the pages of the dictionary, while Vicki hummed the tune from Jeopardy game show when waiting for contestants' answers. Dylan aggressively turned the pages until he found the page he was seeking. His finger skimmed down the page and stopped when he found the word. We quietly waited as Dylan stared at the page his face emotionless. He slammed the book and tossed it to the ground.

"Well?" Colin was the first to question Dylan, but everyone knew the answer without needing confirmation.

"Play the game!" Dylan grumbled fiercely his eyes glued to the scrabble board.

"I told you not to challenge them." Sanders mumbled under his breath.

"Aw babe, it's okay. Dylan's team lost their turn, so that means it is Colin's turn." Vicki cooed at Dylan.

There was a knock on the door interrupting the game. The door opened and the last person I wanted to see stepped through. It was my stalker, Cre.

"I heard there was a partying going on up here. Didn't want to be left out."

Colin jumped up and rushed over to the new guest wrapping his arm around him. "Hey, I thought you were gone?"

"I was leaving, but I changed my mind. I thought I would hang around a little longer." A pair of eyes landed on me as he made his statement. I groaned inwardly.

"Creed I'm glad you decided to stay." Celeste smiled rubbing her belly. "Colin misses his big brother." Cre, I mean Creed, is Colin's brother? Great. There was no way I was going to be able to shake him now.

"I know that's why I decided to come back to hang out with you guys a little longer. Plus maybe I get to see my new niece or nephew." He smiled and peeking over to me. I ignored him as he made his way over to the couch where I sat with Jason.

Celeste eyes followed his trail to me. She cocked her head to the side looking suspiciously at Creed's intense stare at me. "Ummm, sure that's why you are staying."

"Hello, Eva." Creed stood in front of me and force me to acknowledge his presence.

"Creed you know Eva?" Celeste smiled her suspicion confirmed that I was probably the reason that Creed came back.

"We met in town." Creed sent a wink implying there was more to our relationship. That was all Jason need to see as he quickly vacated the couch, allowing Creed to sit down next to me.

Creed leaned over whispering in my ear, "Hey sweet cheeks." I leaned away from him and kept my attention on the game that was in front of us.

"Creed this is who you were talking about?" Colin questioned his eyes trained on me.

"Yes." Creed slung his arm around my shoulder. "Everyone, this is my mate."

Now how is Eva going to get out of this one?

I know this is short chapter compare to my others, but as I stated in my last A- note that until my eyes get better, I can only write for short periods of time. That means more frequent updates! Hope you like the chapter!
