Whenever I am upset, I write "letters to remain undelivered" that express my sadness. Sometimes it's to a specific person such as a close friend, or the person who is the reason I am upset. Sometimes it's not directed towards anyone because either way, they'll never be delivered. I just write out all of my feelings and put them into a box. This is probably emotionally unhealthy, but sometimes I feel like I need to express my feelings without telling anyone. That way I don't have to bore everyone with my pathetic unimportant problems that aren't worth their time.
