I pushed the cart up and down the isles. The only one allowed in the cart was Aubrey since she was the youngest. Abby, Sophie and Bandit stayed close by while Nick, Sam, Dean and James fooled around. Cherry fiddled around on her phone while Lily listened to her musc. Matt trailed behind us slowly. Krista filled the cart with supplies we needed. I kept glancing back at Matt who seemed zoned out and distant. He wasn't acting like he did only hours before. Aubrey played with my fingers and giggled. Krista was ahead of us. I wandered slowly as the kids fooled around happily.
"Mom." I heard my name being called from behind me. I stopped and turned slowly. Matt wasn't looking so good. His face was even pailer and the skin around his collar bone and neck was even redder. His blue eyes were glassy and distant.
"I'm not feeling so good." He added slowly. Something clicked inside my head. We need to get him out of here. Now. Before I knew it we'd paid for the things and every one was in the van and we were driving to the hospital. My nerves were all over the place with fear and worry. I don't know what's happening nor why it's happening. All I remember is waiting for the Doctor in the waiting room with the kids and Krista. I remember having nothing to say amoungest the chatter the kids have. I didn't bother calling Frank because for all we know it's something minor like he caught a cold or something silly like that and I'm being a mother hen. I just wanted this nightmare to be over like now. I saw LynZ and Joey come up to us, both had their sisters. LynZ had her sister Holly and Joey had Sarah. LynZ and Joey wore worried expressions and scared eyes. I stood to greet them.
"Is he okay?" Joey asked curiously. I looked at them with pain filled eyes and mind.
"I don't know." Was all I managed to choke out. They both hugged me tightly.
"It's okay, he's gonna be okay." LynZ reassured happily. I hope she's right. I hope she's right.
