Harry said nothing after that. Louis had turned on the engine and started on their way, Harry not even paying attention to where they were going and whether he was going home or not.
"I didn't mean to make it weird, sorry," Louis' voice came out like a sigh, breathy sounding. Harry faced him and raised an eyebrow.
"You didn't."
Louis licked his lips nervously, eyes dead on the road. He didn't even make any glance towards Harry. "I'm sorry anyway." Was his response.
"I care, it's frustrating," Harry began to explain, "I don't want to just never speak again after this. And I think that's what they want us to do."
"I don't want that either." This time Louis glanced at Harry for a moment, making exact eye contact. Harry sunk back into his seat and watched the road ahead. Not many cars on the road he noticed, and this time he wanted to know where they were off to.
"Where are we going?"
"Uh, I think I'm just headed home, but I'll drop you off on the way. Just tell me the address." Louis made a grab for the GPS to enter in the directions.
"I don't want to go home."
"Where else are you supposed to go? You have school tomorrow anyway, incase you forgot it's a Thursday."
Harry sighed. "Anywhere but home right now."
Louis frowned, but he didn't press on the matter. They continued down the road and through unfamiliar streets until Louis' car slowed to a stop in front of a small block of apartments. They looked newly built and expensive. It seemed Harry was right about a nice place, too.
Harry followed Louis up to his apartment, which of course, was on the top floor and probably had a pretty view. Once inside, Louis flicked on the light revealing a kitchen that overlooked the living and dining room. Harry could spot the balcony and it's view of the cloudy night sky peeking through the blinds.
Louis set his keys on the kitchen counter and shrugged off his jacket, throwing it absentmindedly across a dining chair. He sighed loudly then and turned to face Harry with his hands placed on his hips.
"Well, I don't know what to do now."
Harry shrugged. "I'll just, I dunno, sit around." He looked around for a suitable place to collapse on. He chose the comfy looking couch and sunk into it, feeling cosy already.
"I could bring you a blanket at least." Louis made for his bedroom across from the couch and emerged with a fluffy blanket in his hands. It made Louis look small, he thought.
He threw the blanket on the couch beside Harry and took a seat next to it. Harry watched as Louis propped his legs up on the glass coffee table and fold his arms over his chest. Harry felt bad, Louis looked tired and he had dragged Louis on a drive to save his stupid, drunk self.
But, he didn't want to apologise again. He didn't want to be that person, he just hoped that Louis understood.
