April's POV
My eyes fluttered open, and the first person I saw was Mira. She was glancing around the room, her arms crossed over her chest. When she saw me, her face brightened.
"April!" She sighed and placed har cold hands on mine. I flinched.
"Sorry. Draco's gone to get some water." She gestured towards the door and sat back down.
I slid my hand down to my stomach and pressed lightly against the wound. I couldn't feel anything from the usual. I lifted the blanket and gazed at it. The skin was bright pink, a small scar was visible too. I placed the blanket back down on me, just as Draco arrived back with two cups. He handed Mira a drink and kept one for himself.
"Sorry I didn't get you one, love." Draco looked down. His lips were a little cracked, so he obviously needed the drink more then me.
"Here, do you want mine?" Mira asked, holding out her cup.
I refused, "No, no. It's okay."
Mira put her cup on the table. "I'm going to find Neville. I'll see you guys later." Mira patted me on the shoulder, and Draco gave her a slight nod. Mira walked off, looking back once more.
"Is he dead?" I whispered to Draco who had replaced Mira in the chair.
He nodded and took my hand. "Yes." Our fingers intertwined.
"Yes." I repeated.
Draco gave me a puzzling look. "What?"
"Yes, I will marry you."
He grinned, ''I'm glad.''
Mira's POV
I slowly walked down of the corridors - or what was left of them - in search of Neville. It was quiet, and all I could hear was the scraping of my shoes against the gravel.
"Mira!" I heard someone call.
I turned, hoping to see Neville. Instead, it was Harry. He stood there, in all the glory he had.
"You killed him?" I asked, stepping forward.
He came a few steps forward as well. "Yeah. He's gone."
I sighed, "Well. I'm glad." I looked at Harry, who was covered in dirt and blood. "You should get cleaned up." I suggested. I gave him an encouraging smile and he returned it.
"Alright." The moment started to grow awkward.
"Have you seen Neville?" I asked.
Harry sighed and looked away. "Not lately." He answered grimly.
I nodded and brushed past him. "See you, Harry." I mumbled as I walked off.
I staggered around Hogwarts, looking for Neville. I searched each room, the ones I was allowed in and the ones that weren't in pieces.
I checked in the Medical Ward to see if he was there. Nothing.
I sat alone in the courtyard, pulling out blades off grass. I sighed and fell backwards into the soft grass. My mind wondered as I closed my eyes and exhaled deeply. I heard the slight crunch of grass underneath someone's feet. I blinked and glanced over to the left of me. Neville was lying next to me, a bandage wrapped around his head.
"Are you okay?" He asked, taking my hand.
"Yeah. How about you?" I said softly.
He inched closer and lightly kissed my lips. I kissed him back and he smiled.
"My head hurts a tad. But lying here with you makes it better."
I blushed as Neville grinned. Nuzzling against his chest, he kissed the top of my head. Holding each others hand, we lay there quietly, gazing up at the sky.
April's POV
"Are you alright?" Draco asked after putting his cup down.
"I'm fine," I gave him a half smile.
A look of concern washed over his face. "Are you sure?" Draco's eyes widened.
"Yes."
He stroked my hand with his thumb and gazed at me. I smiled.
"They thought you weren't going to make it. They thought," Draco said suddenly, and very quietly. "You were going to die." He looked away. I noticed how he said the sentence...almost as if he were holding back tears.
"We should get out of here. If you can." Draco suggested, taking a sip of water. I nodded, propping myself up slowly. Crigning slightly, I slid off the bed with Draco holding my arm. I pulled my shoes on and we walked out of the Medical Ward. We walked around in no particular direction with Draco's arm wrapped around me.
"Here." We stopped and Draco bent down, facing away from me. I hopped onto his back, and he continued walking, carrying me. We walked through the courtyard and stumbled across Mira and Neville.
"Hey Mira," I said, resting my head on Draco's shoulder.
She glared up, the top of her head still on the ground. Then she smiled, noticing it was me. "Hey, are you feeling better?" She turned around and bit her lip.
"Still hurts." I shrugged but gave her a smile.
"Sorry to interrupt, but I'm taking April now. See you guys later." Draco announced, taking us back towards the Ravenclaw common room. There was still most of it left.
I used the Ascendio spell and we landed by the door. A chunk of the roof had been blown off, letting the cool air rush through. Draco answered the riddle - he took him a minute to understand - but he did it. We walked into the room, and he dropped me into the couch. He sat down next to me and put his arm around my shoulders.
He kissed me slowly, and I followed his lead. I pulled back with a smile, "I love you, Draco."
"I love you too, April."
