Miranda's pov

Me and Jason were making dinner together while the kids watch TV. "Hey they guys invited me on a fishing trip. You don't mind if I go right?" I shake my head. "How's Davis doing?" He smiles. "He's home and recovering well. Very lucky." He says. I smile too. "That's great!" I gasp, hugging him. I call the kids in and we sit down for dinner. Ten minutes in, his radio goes off. I drop my fork in annoyance as he stands up wide eyed. "I'm sorry darlin'. I gotta go. This is a big fire. They need everyone they can get." I just stare at my food. He sighs and hugs me. "I'll make it up to you. I promise." "Just go." I whisper, fighting back tears. We get to the apartment building. 8 stories all on fire, people screaming from inside. Me and Mike run in. "We better hurry. This thing isn't very stable!" I shout, the smoke blinding me. "I've got the lower floors, you take the upper ones." He says. I nod and take off for the stairs. "Hello? Anyone here?" I call. No one. I search through the rooms but there's no one. Then I hear someone yell for help on the 8th floor. "Hold on! I'm coming!"
