Niall's POV

I came offstage feeling more elated than I had in a long time, but then I saw Jenny, standing at the bottom of the hallway with her back to me, facing the wall.

I smiled when I saw her and went to run and thank her for helping me, motivating me to get my confidence back and more importantly, celebrate my success, but then I noticed something when I got close enough to her to see.

She was crying.

My heart stopped for a second and I looked left and right, who would make her cry? What would make her cry right now? She looked so excited for me standing at the side of the stage watching, didn't she?

"Jenny." I placed my hand on her shoulder, making her body jolt and she craned her neck to look up at me. "Jenny, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" I questioned as she quickly wiped her eyes and looked back at the wall for a few seconds before turning to face me, feigning a smile.

"I'm fine." She smiled, but I knew better by this stage and I knew that smile was a fake one. I gave her a warning look but she just chuckled lightly and looked down at he feet, a fresh tear rolling down her cheek.

"You're not fine. I know you're not, tell me what's wrong. You know it's okay to not be fine sometimes." I reached out and took her hands in mine. This woman always says she's fine, even when she isn't. I just wish she would stop doing this to herself. She's so strong though, and I admire her for that.

She looked up at me and then fell forward, burying her face in my chest. I heard the soft sniffles coming from her, I knew she was crying so I just rubbed her back gently.

"Niall, I'm just so proud of you." She cried into my chest which in turn, made my expression change. I frowned down at her in thought.

Why would she cry over this?

"Jenny, why would you cry over that?" I pushed her back from my chest, putting my finger under her chin gently and forcing her to look up into my eyes. She wouldn't lie, would she?

"Cause, just emotional because you done so well." She smiled softly and wiped furiously at her eyes. My smile mirrored hers, only half believing her though. "I'm just so proud to be able to call you my husband." She hugged me tightly again then.

"Are you on your period?" I asked, taking out my phone and looking over her shoulder at me phone as I opened my period tracker app I had for her. As a man, you've got to be prepared. "No, you shouldn't." I mumble in thought, more to myself than to her.

"I'm just proud okay. I'm not on my period whatsoever, just proud." She said into my shoulder. I hummed and gently rubbed her back, asking myself whether she was telling the truth. I didn't know why she would lie about that though so I decided to just trust her.

"I love you so much, you're the cutest wife ever." I giggled excitedly, picking her up and letting her wrap her legs around my waist, gently kissing her then.

"Well done, you did so well." She looked between my mouth and my lips with watery eyes as she ran her hands through my hair gently. I smiled but then it faltered a little when I saw her smile wasn't that bright.

I can't help but feel something else is bothering her.. I just don't know what.

Jenny's POV

"Lou, Lou, it's bad." I said, walking into her living room unannounced. I had just arrived at her house and let myself in, she's quite accustomed to me doing this, I come here quite often.

"What's bad?" She asked, not even questioning that I walked in unannounced and it was quite late. It was almost twelve but she was still up. I left the house after Niall went to bed, I didn't want him knowing I was coming here.
