Another hour rolled by and a large man, in all black, came in and slid a tray in each cell. They were microwaved dinners, it came with peas, mashed potatoes, and a piece of chicken, just the gourmet dinner every prisoner dreamed of. Both Sam and Stiles weren't exactly devouring their half frozen dinner but finished it nonetheless. Around ten at night, Sam went to sleep after a while, Stiles began studying the lock on the cells. The locks were more like a lock you'd see on the front door of a house, Stiles really couldn't believe he might actually be able to get them out of here.
Thankfully, because of all the life threatening situations he's been in along with being the Sheriff's son that sometimes needs classified information, he knew how to pick the lock. Stiles dug the paperclip out of his pocket and started to twist and turn it into the right shape. Sam was still asleep, he hadn't slept the last two days because he wanted to be ready in case the witch finally showed but today he decided to get at least a couple hours, he trusted that Stiles would wake him up if he was needed.
Stiles carefully picked the lock even with the little movement he had through the bars of the cage to the lock of the cell. Stiles focused on how the paperclip moved through the lock and managed to unlock it within a minute. Stiles hurriedly moved over to Sam's cell and unlocked his lock in a matter of seconds, having a direct view made it even easier to unlock. He went to Sam, who was sleeping in his cot and started to gently shake him, hoping not to startle him.
"Sam, Sam wake up, we got to go!" Stiles whispered.
Sam woke up soon enough confused but quickly made himself aware of his surroundings when he saw Stiles hovering over him. While he knew he wasn't in danger, he was still confused as to how Stiles was free and how he was in his cell. Stiles saw Sam's look but now wasn't the time for explanations he put his finger to his lips to signal to Sam to stay quiet. Stiles looked around for his next move and saw a corner of a molding from behind a shelf near the ceiling. It was a window, they tried covered it with a shelf, but the molding peeked out of the edge. Stiles ran towards it and moved the shelf to the side to get a better view of the window. The window was a sliding window that had a metal latch locking it, Stiles tried to undo it but it happened to be rusted and stuck. Sam saw what Stiles was trying to do and made his way over to help when he noticed he was having trouble.
Sam saw the issue and looked around for another way, the basement was basically barren and had nothing to get the latch loose. As a last resort, Stiles took a piece of tarp off the ground, wrapped it around his fist and punched the window in, getting as much glass as he can out the window, he set the tarp on the remaining little shards of glass left on the edge and began to crawl out. Sam watched as Stiles did all this and followed him out, he didn't know who this kid was or how he was doing all this like routine.
They both managed to get outside and Stiles was right, they were in the middle of nowhere, there was a dirt road on their left and the house they were in was in the middle of a huge green pasture. There was no car in sight, Stiles quickly went around the perimeter of the house with Sam close behind and stopped at a window, from the window, he saw that the house is completely empty other than a couple couches in the center. Stiles was tired, he'd been held captive and when he had managed to get out, there is no way to get away from here. It was dark out, being so late at night really didn't help them. Stiles looked towards Sam,
"You don't have a phone on you by chance?" he asked wincing at what the alternative solution is. Sam shook his head shamefully, they couldn't get far from here at all by the time their captors notice. Stiles sighed, his idea wasn't easy but it was the only way.
"So what do you say Sam? Left or Right?" he asked as he gestured towards the dirt road. Sam figured they'd have to walk so he decided they go left,
"Left."
Stiles nodded and started walking towards the dirt road, ready for a very long walk. Sam just really hoped they could find a payphone somewhere so he could call Dean.
