Still Learning

I completely forgot that we were in the same grade. I exaggerated when I said Shadow was a year older than me, I was only about 4 months younger than her! She still stared at me, then burst into laughter.
"Oh my Celestia!" She squealed between giggles. My sister took a deep breath. "That was awesome!"
"Hey... Don' laugh ah' me..." I scowled drowsily. I waddled away and opened the fridge as if she weren't there. Clutching a bottle of milk, I balanced on my hind legs and threw it onto the island in the center of the kitchen. Then, I grabbed a bowl and some "Sugar Bombs," Shadow's favourite cereal, because I had already eaten all of mine.
Sighing once again, I poured the cereal and milk. My eyes darted around my new house, which wasn't very interesting. I was searching for conflict. By that I mean, life had been so simple when we moved over the Summer; nothing exciting, no action, no drama; I hated it. Everything was boring in the present! Before I knew it, I was fantasising about my next 'adventure.'
I'm on a normal trip to school. My legs ache a bit from waking, but nevertheless, I'm fine. All of a sudden, WHAM! A giant spider appears! We have an epic fight. I clash one of its legs with a sword and it falls over! Now is my chance to strike! With my sword, I hop on top of him and stab-
"Chip? You alright?" Shadow was waving her hoof in front of my eyes. "We've gotta go or we'll be late." I snapped out of my trance, then inquired,
"I'm okay, I was just... Uh..." Shadow tilted her head.
"Meditating, of course!" I said and sweat lightly. My sister thought it was great that we didn't have to deal with all those evil-ponies anymore, so I decided to lie. All she did was raise one eyebrow and squint.
"I'm onto you..." She said, then giggled and slithered away. Side by side, we headed toward the door. I grabbed my pre-packed saddle bag from the coat hanger as Shadow fumbled to throw everything together. Once we finally met with the large, bronze door handle, I turned it and swung open the door. A fresh, chilly breeze swung in. Geez, it's awfully cold for the beginning of Spring, I thought. Taking our first steps outside, I hid my face. Across the street, I saw Beta, wearing the cutest hoodie imaginable, walking down the sidewalk. Quickly, I hid my face and kept walking.
