putting your jacket around her to keep warm, you held her in her arms as she cried.
"what did i ever do to them?" she sobbed.
"you didn't do anything. you're not the one to blame."
"no matter how much i tell myself not to listen to what they say, i still do. i listen to them. and it hurts."
you pulled her slightly away from you to look her in the eye. "you shouldn't care what people think of you. if they don't have the time to get to know before judging you, they're not worth it. they're not worth thinking about. don't waste your time thinking about people who won't matter in a couple of years. think of the people who matter now, they people who care."
she nodded sniffling. "thanks. so i guess i'll think about you then."
