I smile. They smile back,

Life goes on, stays on track.

I reassure them that its alright,

I'm okay, I'm a strong girl, right?

Even if underneath this flesh there's nothing more,

Than a tortured soul, unstable to the very core.

Despair etched into the skin, cursed with sadness,

Broken pieces of a heart, coated in madness.

Memories teasing, lighting the match, licking the flames,

Caged up in what society would like to be called a game.

But I smile, they smile back,

Life goes on, even though I'm drifting off the track.

They stop asking if I'm alright,

No-one notices, cause I'm a strong girl. . . Right?
