chapter fifteen

I soon learnt about Blue with each night that we spent in each other's company. We found ourselves comfortable talking to each other without the eyes of others around us. I learnt that he had moved here from Maine because his mom had gotten a new job, and I learnt that he had discovered his calling, the same as mine, when he was in sixth grade. I found out that he enjoyed instrumental music, and that he lived down the street from me and he had actually come out to the field to star gaze since he moved here but he never ventured far out.

He had heard that I was known in the neighborhood as a star gazer and that one night he was interested in finding me. He had walked throughout the field and when he found me come out on my back porch he had sat down, because he wondered if he could actually sit down with me and the both of us could stare at the marvel that was the galaxy.

And that was why, I once again shocked myself, when we were heading to the parking lot to get in our cars and head home a month after we started talking to each other. "Blue...do you want to come over to my house? I thought that you could see my artwork. So that we can understand each other..."

Blue nodded his head, and I smiled before we headed towards our cars and when I got into mine I couldn't help but squeal and giggle and know that for once I would actually get to show someone my artwork and get their honest opinion and it helped also that the observer would end up being my attractive companion.

I sat in my car for two minutes, to calm myself down before I drove out of the school parking lot and headed down the street and in the direction of my neighborhood. Blue was in front of me, in his gray car and I followed him.

We entered the neighborhood and then reached my house. He pulled up to the curb and parked before I went into my driveway and parked. I got out of my car and locked it behind me before I went to the walk way with the sight of the indigo haired boy following close behind me. I went up the porch steps and unlocked the front door before we both entered the house.

I shut the front door closed behind me before I headed over to the stairs and the sound of his footsteps behind me made me a little nervous. This was the first time that I had invited someone to my house in a very long time. And I couldn't help but feel fear and excitement at the thought of Blue seeing my artwork that I had worked all my heart on, putting all my passion and sweat and blood into it and for some odd reason...the idea of him seeing it made it even more worth while.
