Rhapsody of the Rose

Crimson petals shining in the sun Roses sway gently as a new song is sung
Irregular melody makes them dance and sway
As the wind blows in the heat of the day

Vibrant colors blooming as far as the eye can see
The enticing scent of the Roses quietly beckon me
And as I fall into step with their natural serenade
The breeze will be my partner and softly whisper my name

The Rhapsody of the Rose
Is a song not even sirens know
With fleeting strings and gentle trills Which leaves sweet, ghostly echoes 'cross the hills

It's a ballad that goes from day to night
Yet I will still dance under the moon's silver light
And when I grow weary I will sleep on this floor
A soft, gentle carpet of red roses that I adore

And when I grow too old
To dance with the Rose
I will lay on the ground
And simply listen to the sound
of their Rhapsody's song
And think back when I was young
And could sway to their irregular melody
Until I am once again set free
