Chapter Twelve // Early

One week later

One more week. One more week until I know the secret.

Luke's POV

I'm doing it today. She thinks she has to wait another week. But I might've lied a little to make it a bigger surprise. I'm super nervous.

Delilah's POV

Luke is acting weird. I'm guessing it's the stress of a baby coming soon, or the secret is eating him alive.

I go into my room to reveal a beautiful dress. It's strapless and it's a mint green color. It's long so I can wear black flats.

There is a note with it though

I wonder how he knows my taste so well. Oh wait. It's the mate bond thing. You know what the other likes.

I'm sitting on the couch when I feel lips kiss my head and know it's Luke by the electricity that shoots through my body.

"So where are you taking me tonight, Mr. Gates?" I ask
"It's a surprise" he winks

I get in his car and he drives to the woods. Seriously? He told me to dress up to go in the woods? He's an ass. But that's when I notice that there is a path lit by fireflies. Which is kinda weird.

Luke takes my hand and I get out of the care. My feet start hurting right away so I slow down.

"What's wrong?" Luke's asks me
"My feet are killing me" I smile sadly

Without a warning Like sweeps me off my feet. Literally. He picks me up. I'm surprised I'm not too heavy for him, being that I'm pregnant and all.

We enter the woods and it's like magic. The fireflies are lined up perfectly. It's kinda eerie.

Luke follows the path with me in his arms. While we walk the long distance we make small talk.

"What's your favorite color?" I ask him
"Why?" Luke chuckles
"It was a question that came to mind" I shrug
"Well then... Hmm... My favorite color would probably be pink" he chuckles
"Oh so you have a feminine side?" I ask wiggling my eyebrows
"No" he laughs "it's not like a bright pink, Princess. It's more like a sunset pink. Like the peach-ish color. I don't know, call it whatever you want" he smiles "what's yours?"
"Sea foam green" I smile
"Why is that?" He asks
"It was the color of Drew's eyes" I smile
"Who's Drew?" Luke growls getting jealous
"Calm down, sheesh. Drew is my brother. He was the best brother anyone could have. And I really miss him" I smile sadly
"Oh" is all Luke says

"Are we almost there yet?" I ask
"Nope" Luke sighs

Meanwhile, while me and Luke were talking I found this out:
He had a little sister named Lidia, but she died when she was a baby
His favorite number is twenty two. This is because that is the number he always has on his jersey for sports
He once got a girl pregnant before he got me knocked up, but she had a miscarriage
After he slept with me he didn't sleep with any other girl, he knew that I was special.
And his favorited food is alligator! I've never tried alligator. He went down to Florida once and went out to eat and ordered alligator.

I also learned some things about him that he's beer told anyone. And vise versa.

I end up falling asleep in Luke's arms. Oops? But I wake up when Luke whispers "we're here"

I open my eyes and look around as he lets me down. It's beautiful. Lanterns are handing and it's just too beautiful to describe, but I bet you could imagine.

Luke clears his throat.

"So, I know you've been wondering what the secret was and here you go. This is it. This is what I was talking to the witch about. I love you so much Delilah." He starts getting down on one knee and tears fill my eyes "there would be nothing better than this. Me and you and Chase and our little baby girl or boy. I have no idea what I did to get such a loving mate who is very sexy and beautiful. I couldn't imagine my life without you. Would you do me the honor and be my wife? Delilah, will you marry me?" Luke says

I can't find my words. I'm crying right now. So this was the secret. To propose to me? Awe, how cute. I start nodding my head very quickly. "Yes! Yes yes yes yes yes! I love you so much Luke!" I say

He slides the beautiful ring on my finger and he stands up. When he stands up I jump in his arm and kiss him very passionatly. I'm getting married!
