Chapter 31 A new friend

I guess, I learnt a lot that day. That life isn't a happy ever after and that you don't always get what you want.

But I learnt, that you had to be strong, and not focus on the past, but the future.

As I rode my bike into town, I stopped at a bakery and picked up a croisannt.

"Thanks!" I said handing the lady my money

I collected my croisannt and found a nice small table in the front of the beach. I smiled as I looked out onto the horizon and saw the crashing waves, with squealing children jumping in and out of the water.

I picked up the daily newspaper, and was shocked to find the head title said 'Loss for St.Marys Cheer Leading Squad as their Captain, Fell Sick and Couldn't Attend, Which Resulted In Them Losing For The First Time In Eight Years!"

I stared at the cover page for a while.

Brittany? Sick? Lost Cheer Leading Grand Finals?

That can't be right.

I looked at the date.

Yep, it said Today!

I put my half eaten croisannt on my plate and quickly rode to school, realising I would be late.

As I reached school, I realised that all of the banners of Brittany had been put down and new ones were up for cheer leading try outs for a new captain.

"Oh, my god, they kicked Brittany off the team!" I murmed.

"You got that right! They say that she couldn't attend because she was 'sick' but we all think another reason." chriped Natalie from behind me.

"What do you mean another reason?" I asked frowning

Natalie put her mouth to my ear and whispered "We all think she's pregnat, because she started throwing up all week and she did go to Drakes party like two weeks ago."

"Are you serious? She might just have a bug! Besides, don't all of the cheer leaders have a pill?"

Natalie shook her head and pointed to the bathrooms.

I looked at her for a second then quickly raced to the bathrooms.

"Brittany? Brittany are you in here?" I called out as I stepped inside the bathroom.

I heard a whimper in the last section and quickly ran there.

"Oh my gosh Brittany, are you ok?" I asked

Brittany had her head facing the tiolet as she kept on puking and her face was a mess. Her mascara had drizzled down her face and her lipstick had gone all over her face.

I gasped.

I quickly picked her up and sat her in my lap, like she was a young baby.

I wrapped my hands around her tiny waist and rocked her.

Once she had stopped crying, and puking we both walked up to the bathroom and cleaned up her face and hair.

Once I had removed all of her makeup, I gasped at how even more beautiful she was.

"Brittany, look at how beautiful you look!" I said

Brittany slowly raised her head to the mirror and looked in it.
