Recap:

"Thankyou ladies and gentlmen, now please bow and curtsey." called out our teacher.

We both broke apart and I gave a curtsey to Derek, holding his gaze. Derek bowed to me and smiled again.

"I hope we can talk again.' whispered Derek in my ear, sending shivers down my spine before he left the hall.

I sent one last smile to him before shooting daggers at Hayden. Whatever that was about, I am going to find out!

"You ok?" asked Natalie as she picked out a couple of long dresses from the sale rack.

"Hmm? Oh yeah of course." I quickly said as I tore myself away from my daydreaming.

Natalie frowned. "Which one do you think looks cute on me?" she asked holding up a long light pink dress that had ruffles all over it and there were golden jewels along the top and a knee length dress dark blue boob tube drress that scrunched up all around her.

I shrugged and said 'Whatever one you like most.......maybe the dark blue one."

Natalie huffed and sat down next to me "Ok, I know that shopping wasn't your first choice, but if we want to have really cute dresses for the ball before anyone gets the good dresses, then we have to start shopping."

I smiled. Natalie knew me well, too well.

"I think that my mum already has a dress for me, that she has been keeping for a while." I said remembering the conversation I had with my mum yesterday.

"Great, you have a dress, but I still can't pick one!" said Natalie sarcastically

I looked at the two dresses and finally said "I think that the long pink will look nice on you."

Natalie twirled around with the dress. "You think so?'

"I'm positive." I said getting up. "Besides, you look good in anything, you could come to school wearing boys clothes and you would still look like the prettiest girl in the school."

Natalie put her hands on her hips "Well, you have to admit, I always look pretty good!" and she twirled around before winking flirtatiously at me.

I laughed and slung my one shoulder bag over my shoulder, and straightened my yellowsleeveless top that was tucked into a white skirt.

"Where to now?" i asked as Natalie payed for the dress.

I looked around the shopping mall and felt my stomach grumble as I smelt Subway.

"Let's go and look for some glasses for you." said Natalie as she skipped to the optometrist.

I groaned.

"But Natalie, I'm hungry and I already have glasses." I said pointing to my glasses with a 'duh' face.

Natalie gave me a sympathetic look "Yes, but those glasses are ancient. You need to buy something new and not THAT!"

I gasped and faked hurt. "But Natalie I love these glasses." I whined as she dragged my to theoptometrist.

Natalie ignored me while I sulked as I tagged along with her.

This is no fair, I love my glasses and have always had them every since I started year 7.

They have been with me through thick and thin. Well mostly thick!

When we walked through the door a bell rang and a lady at the office overlooked us, and finally set her eyes on my glasses before giving me a disapproving look.

I put my hands on my hips in anger and stared coldly at the office lady.

"Would you like help with anything?" asked the lady walking up to us as we observed some other glasses on the rack.

"Not re-"

"Of course we need help, not for me, but for my friend." quickly said Natalie, sending me a quick smile.

The lady and Natalie shared a secret smile as they both looked at my glasses and I scowled.

"There is nothing wrong with my glasses!" I said annoyed at the both of them.

"Right." answered the office lady slowly.

I sighed and followed her as she showed me some odd looking glasses.

"What are these?" I asked squinting at a pair of fluoro glasses with twists and curls on the side.

"These are called the new range of glasses, but I guess you wouldn't know what the modern range would look like." stated the office lady.

Man, this lady was getting on my nerves.

I smiled sarcastically at her and moved on to the next pair of glasses, and the next pair, until I had finished looking at all of them.

"I don't like them." I said stubbornly

"What? But they are only the best." said the lady outraged

"Right!" I muttered and started to walk off.

"Wait! We have a last pair of black glasses that are vintage?" called out the lady

I turned around and saw her giving me a pleading face.

She has probably never lost a customer before. She looked so helpless that I wanted to start laughing.

"Ok." I said as she handed me the glasses.

These glasses were unlike any that I had ever tried on before, I mean, I am certain that I have seen people wearing something similar to this.

I liked them even more when I realised that they resembled a bit of my own glasses.

I looked at the side of the glasses.

"RayBan." i muttered.

"Yes, it seems to be in style now." quickly said the office lady.

Man, she was getting on my nerves.

I put them on and smiled thinking that they still made me look nerdy.

I turned around to the lady who was standing next to Natalie as they both held their breath.

"I'll buy it." I finally said trying not to laugh as they both sighed and i gave the lady my glasses.

"Very good choice." said the lady as she placed them in my bag.

I looked at Natalie who was smiling at me and I got the bag, after giving the lady a fake smile and walking out of the optometrist.

Natalie did little dance to herself as we walked out I just shook my head.

"Yay, you finally ditched those ancient glasses and bought some awesome ones!" said Natalie still dancing.

I took a step back "I never said anything about ditching them."

Natalie groaned "Are you seriously still going to keep them?"

"Hey, they have been with me since year seven and I am not ditching them now." I said

"Now lets go and get myself a sandwich from subway, because nobody can stand between a girl like me and food!" I ordered marching off to Subway.

Natalie Pov

I smiled as Bianca marched off to Subway with her long hair flowing behind her.

"Some things will never change, especially Bianca." I muttered as I hurried after her.

"I heard that!" called out Bianca making me jump.

I chuckled and ran after her, thinking about the Masquerade ball.
