[ Core Four ]
[ Third Person ]The week had quickly gone by to the group. Practice was only scheduled on Wednesday, and Evie and Carlos would always find themselves in either of their rooms. Mal and Jay almost too busy with whatever it was they were doing.
Carlos hummed happily as he flipped through a book, his phone buzzing every so often but never made any intentions to look it over. Evie found that odd, as he had been quite into their new cell phones - of course sponsored by AP - but now he seemed more into the older way of doing things.
And Evie would roll her eyes at that. He had been obsessed with this new website, Tumble or whatever it was, she could never remember. All she knew was that is where he got all his ideas and where had found his inspiration. Of course, having been warned by him numerous times, she never went on the netlink herself.
But that's how the two were with one another. Evie would be at the edge of Carlos' bed, sewing him a new shirt, and the young boy would read off random ideas to her, or click on links to show her silly dog videos. Or, sometimes they'd cuddle platonically on the bed, Evie wrapped around Carlos' small frame as he dosed off or her whispered softly. And neither would complain. They were very content with their friendship and wouldn't change it for the world.
And Jay and Mal would return, both huffing and red in the face. And Evie would grow jealous, her arms instinctively curling around Carlos. And she'd grin into the young boy's neck, seeing Jay tense and stiffen.
"Hey guys," Mal greeted, pulling her hair out of her short stub of a pony tail. She has yet to get a hat cut, and her purple locks had grown a tad longer in length. Carlos gave her a look over before giving her a wave of his hand.
"You guys didn't get caught in that nasty storm, did you?" The blonde boy asked, eyeing at how soaked Jay's shirt collar was. And, the tall boy looked down, groaning as he turned towards the bathroom.
"'f course not," Mal answered, shuffling across the room to sit down at Carlos' desk. She opened up his laptop - the one Jay had stolen in the beginning of the school year - and was swiftly typing something. Evie and Carlos hadn't said anything about it, whispering mindlessly to each other about what the two could have been up to.
And, now, it wasn't that Evie didn't trust Mal, per say, but she knew her girlfriend better than anyone else. Mal wasn't the type to stay cemented, she'd like to explore and try new things. It started to get into Evie's mind that she had wanted to try Jay. Which she disliked entirely. Same thoughts for Carlos as well, he knew Jay got around a bit.
So, when they came back together, hot and sweaty, it was only likely to question it themselves. But seeing as they were so nonchalant about it, maybe they were thinking wrong.
The sound of the showering running is what pulled Carlos out of his head. The nozzle always made a hiss as the hot water was on, and then it settled for the comforting sound of water against the solid of the tiles.
Mal continued on typing when she heard Carlos' bed creak, the young boy moving over to Jay's to snuggle under the covers of the cool sheets. And Evie smiled at him, seeing his small body against the dark blue of the bed. She wandered over to Mal, wrapping her arms around her and kissing her on the temple. She smiled as she looked at the screen.
