It was February Fourteenth.
The dreaded day. Well, for you of course. All you wanted to do was dig yourself a hole and bury yourself in it. You had never had a valentine once in your entire life. You lived the single life and even though you pretended to like it . . . you really fucking hated it.
But there was someone you had your eyes on. Sugawara Koushi, a fellow third year who was simply adorable. You and Suga have been friends since you were eleven. Now you were both seventeen and still just as close, possibly even closer than before.
"(Y/N)!" You heard Suga's familiar voice call out your name.
"Hey Suga," You acknowledge him.
"Want to go out later, a cup of coffee at the café downtown maybe?" He asked, looking eagerly at you.
"Uhm . . . S-sure!" You agreed nervously.
"Sweet, our first date," He said, smiling down at you.
First Date?
"Okay, I . . . have to go!" You say, awkwardly running down the hall away from Sugawara.
"See you at lunch (Y/N)!" You hear him call out as you fled the scene.
You quickly made your way to your first class and took a seat next to your best friend, (B/F/N).
"I saw you talking to Suga a few minutes ago, you two hook up yet?" (B/F/N) said, taunting you.
"Actually, we have a date after school," You reply smugly.
"Holy shit really?!" They asked you, eyes widening in surprise.
"Yup!" You say, popping the 'p'.
"Oh my god, where are you guys going?" They asked you excitedly.
"We're going to the café downtown!" You told (B/F/N), this time matching their enthusiasm.
"(Y/N) ad (B/F/N), quit talking or I will give you an afterschool detention!" (Y/T/N) scolded you and your friend for talking quite loudly.
Now that shut you up, for there was nothing stopping you from going on your first date ever with your crush of six years now.
~Time Skip to End of Day~
You heard the bell, dismissing class. Suga stood up and was immediately at your side.
"Ready to go (Y/N)?" He asked you, helping you pack your stuff into your bag.
"Yeah but I have to go home and get some money though, I hope you don't mind," You tell him.
"(Y/N), this is a date, I'm paying," He told you as the two of you headed out of the classroom.
"No, I can't let you do that!" You exclaim.
"I'm paying for you and that's final," He said, insisting on paying for you.
"Fine, but I plan on returning the favor!" You tell him.
"Wow (Y/N), we haven't even finished our first date and you're already planning another," He said laughing.
"What, no I wasn't, I was just . . . whatever," You gave up.
"You're too cute," He said, grabbing your hand as you headed downtown.
~Time Skip to the End of the Date~
The two of you stumbled out of the cafe door, doubling over with laughter. You had the time of your life with him. Practically the entire date was the two of you recalling the foolish happenings of your childhood.
"Y'know I have been waiting to do this for six years now," He told you plainly.
"Really?" You ask him, shocked.
"Yeah but to be honest . . . I always thought you like Daichi," He admitted, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Daichi . . . really?!"You ask him, laughing at the thought.
"Yeah, you always seemed to flirt with him so I decided I would just stay your best friend," He said, looking kind of sad.
"Well baka, even though Daichi has some killer thighs, I don't like him like that, we're strictly friends," You reassure him.
"Thank god!" He said, letting out a sigh of relief.
"But I totally ship you guys," You tell him.
"What?" He asks you, giving you a funny look.
"Daisuga," You whisper in his ear.
"I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that," He said, walking you to your door.
"Whatever you say Suga Mama," You say, punching his chest softly.
"Well thanks for tonight," He said, taking both your hands in his.
"Yeah, I've never spent five hours in a cafe before, it was fun to experience, especially with you," You admit, causing both of you to blush.
"Well here goes nothing," He says before wrapping his arms around you waist and pulling you in for a kiss. You wrapped your arms around his neck, clueless as to what the hell you were supposed to be doing. After a few seconds he pulled away and leaned back so he could look you right in the eye.
"I love you (Y/N)," He tells you, placing a kiss on your forehead.
All you did was lean into his chest and say, "I love you too Koushi,"
