I sighed and flopped on to the sofa

'Another hard shift?' my roommate asked

'Yeah, any food?' I asked

'Have to check the fridge I haven't stocked up yet'

I sighed and walked over to see all we had was out of date milk and a block of cheese

I heard my stomach grumble

'Il order a take away' I said

'Good idea, Chinese please' she shouted

'Gotcha' I rang up the Chinese and made our orders and got changed out my uniform

'Hey you got a boyfriend yet?' Chelsey asked

'No... Why?' I asked

'Well I and Tom are having a party this weekend and his best friend is coming and he is hot! Want me to set you up?' she asked

I sighed 'im not ready for that' I said

'Why? Come on! It's been ages'

'Yeah I know that... I also know im not ready. Besides he broke my heart it's not easy'

'Okay I understand, but you're coming to the party right?'

'Sure'

The next day I headed to the shop to stock up on some food

'Jenny?' I looked up to see the guy I least wanted to see right now

I mentally groaned and put a fake smile on

'Hey'

'How you been?' he asked

'I've been great! Brilliant actually you?'

'Same' I just nodded and stood there awkwardly

'There you are Adam!' a blonde woman walked over and stood next to him

'Oh hey Chantelle, this is Jenny... my ex, Jenny this is Chantelle' he said

'Hey' she smiled and shook my hand

'Im the girlfriend of this handsome guy' she winked

'Oh cool, well as nice as this is I have to go' I said and I quickly walked away

'There you are!' Chelsey said 'guess who I just saw?!'

'Adam?'

'Yes! Kissing some blonde girl, urgh he is a dick isn't he' she said

'Its okay chels im fine with it'

'Really? I mean you guys was engaged for 2 years and he just goes and does that in front of you'

'Its fine, im going to go pay for this and head home I feel a bit sick' I said

'Sure thing, cya later' and she walked away

I sighed and went to the check out

When I got back to the apartment I went on my laptop and sighed

Maybe online dating won't be a bad thing? For a little bit of fun

I went on a popular website and signed up and answered the questions

Occupation? Can't really say I work at McDonalds... a lie won't do any harm right?

When I was finished I scanned for people nearby to talk to
