I had spent a good 25 minutes looking for Lucy after she got away from me at the park. When I was near the beach I heard what sounded like shouting and gunfire. I ran towards the street leading to the beach and I happened to pass a house that was being built. I picked up a metal pole long enough that I could use as a weapon. You could say due to my last name using a staff or any weapon one could use as a spear is like family tradition. My father wanted me to respect and honor my ancestor by having me learn how to use a spear like him, his father, and so on. Let's just say that all the bullies at my school should be glad I only had my fists when I fought.

"What the...is that smoke?"

When I got closer I stood at the top of a stairway going down to the beach I saw a big cloud of smoke. When it cleared I saw three people in it and I was able to see one person in front of them, I didn't see them before because of the smoke. It took a few minutes for my eyes to adjust to the distance but when they did I was able to make out long pink hair on the person by themselves. The three people were in some special uniforms and were holding automatic rifles. I knew right away what was going on and who those people were.

"Lucy!"

I tightened my grip onto the pole as I watched one guy ran towards her but she easily stopped him but as soon as she did another cloud of smoke exploded around her. I saw one guy walk into the cloud expecting him to be cut to pieces but after a few seconds I saw him appear and he was dragging Lucy by her hair. My anger flared once I saw him throw her in front of him and his buddy walked up next to him. I backed up a bit and took aim with my pole and I threw the pole in the air like a javelin then I jumped down the stairs and sprinted towards them. My family had also practiced throwing spears much like the legendary warrior Cu Chulainn, my family just loved spears for some reason. When the pole stuck into the ground next to the guy who had thrown Lucy I reared my fist back as I drew closer. By the time he looked over at me I was already close enough to send a hard punch into his face.

"You lay another hand on her I'll make it so you won't have a hand to use ever again!"

"What the...who the hell are you?"

I glanced at Lucy and my eyes widened when I saw blood dripping down the right side of her face. Looking at her head I saw one of her horns was missing, the guy must have struck her with his weapon while they were in the smoke. I focused my anger on the two in front of me and I grabbed the pole out of the sand. I then did my traditional way of introducing myself when I was in a competition; I twirled the pole around my body fluently and I grabbed it in my left hand bringing it in between my body and my arm. I leaned forward a bit and brought my right arm in front of my chest in a bow.

"I am the one who's going to protect this girl at all costs, the one who's going to make you regret hitting her. My name is Axel O'Dyna."

I got up from my pose and just held the pole in a defensive position in case they tried something.

"Listen kid I don't know why you feel the need to bother us right now but we have an important job to do. That girl behind you is coming with us because our boss really wants to see her again."

"Sorry but that won't happen, she's not going anywhere but home."

"Kid I'm already pissed off by your cheap shot so walk away before you get hurt!"

I smirked at the man and just brought the pole forward almost striking him in the head but he jumped back avoiding the hit.

"If you wish to try and take her from me then go ahead, I'll be sure to leave a letter to your doctors apologizing for how badly I'm going to kick your ass."

"You little punk, fine have it your way!"

I saw his friend pull out a combat knife and he lunged at me only to get struck in the chest when I thrust the pole forward. I moved away from Lucy not wanting her to get caught in the middle of this. The guy who I assumed was in charge of the group used his rifle trying to hit me with it but I blocked the strike. I pushed him away and I swung the pole towards his body but he jumped back avoiding the hit.  Smirking I swung the pole again but this time aiming for his legs. he didn't expect the quick follow up so I ended tripping him and sending him on his back. I glanced back to see the other soldier running towards me so I stuck the pole into his stomach before knocking it upward into his chin. While he was stunned I quickly spun around smashing the pole into his side knocking him to the ground.
