intro:
in this tutorial, I will teach you how to create the glossy 'magazine' effect shown above. Of course, it's better using a glossy texture thing, but this is just for fun if you have extra time on your hands.

apps used:
superimpose+phonto (full edit)

instructions:
1) Open up your completed edit/cover as the background. Then, open up a white colour (3:4) as the foreground.

2) Go to 'mask'

2) Go to 'mask'. Using the 'magic wand' tool, erase the White.

3) Selecting the 'eraser' tool, draw in diagonal lines. Remember to put smoothness up to the highest point, and turn on 'soft brush'.

4) Go to the 'transform' tab and and choose 'soft light' as your blend mode

It really depends on your taste

5) Save.

optional instructions (the full edit/cover-takes place before adding the glossy texture):
1) I searched up 'aesthetic Lily Collins' for my photo.

2) I went to Picsart and I cropped the photo to wattpad size

2) I went to Picsart and I cropped the photo to wattpad size. It doesn't matter which part you crop, really. Then I went to 'draw' and using the 'dropper' tool, I selected the background colour and filled the cropped photo.

3) You can do this in either Picsart or Superimpose. Just add the original photo back in and blend it in (I don't mean using blend modes) with the background.

4) Go to Phonto (or you can just keep using Superimpose/Picsart). Put your text in. The font I used was Bulldozer.

5) Save and continue with the instructions for the glossy texture!

note:
honestly, I feel like I'm being too formal here. I hope this tutorial helped. I'm hoping to post a tutorial about Phonto soon, so stay tuned!
