A Life of Love

Violets are growing,
My love is as well.
A mere look at you,
Causes my heart to swell.

Violets are blue,
Like the tears that you shed.
When that jock stood you up,
Left your heart in shreds.

Roses are red.
Not so as my face,
When you said yes,
And agreed to a date.

Rose petals falling,
On our wedding day.
Oh how we danced,
Danced the night away.

Flowers are wilting,
The world is old now.
You never gave cause,
To revoke our vows.

Roses are dead,
Violets are too.
But my face still turns red,
When I'm talking to you.

I hope you guys like it. Hopefully it isn't too sappy for you. I just suddenly had this idea for a love poem based on the old "Roses are red, violets are blue" thing.
