It Just Takes Time (Book 2)

Chapter 6: Awkward.

At the dinner table. 

Hey Ginny?

Shh Harry I'm busy. 

Eating?

.. yes. It takes great concentration alright?

It's food. 

Its an art! 

Fine can we talk later then? 

Well actually I have plans. 

To what?

I don't know sleep? Wrap presents? It's Christmas Eve. 

Shouldn't that have been done a long time ago? 

Um I do things differently. 

Right.... 

And with that I just stared at my food like Harry, Hermione and Ron while everyone around us were chatting and having fun. 

When dinner was over, I ran upstairs to my room and let out a breath of relief when Harry wasn't there. But then obviously a knock came at my door. 

Harry is that you?

Just let me in. 

No. I'm busy alright?

I'm coming in. 

And with that he entered my room and sat on my bed next to me. 

"Can I help you?"

"I don't know." 

"Well did you want to talk?"

"Yeah..."

"About what?"

"About how we almost kissed." he stated straight up. 

"We didn't almost kiss Harry, it was mistletoe." 

"So you're saying you wouldn't want to kiss me?" he asked. Oh god he was acting like a 14 year old girl.

"No it's not that, its just that it's mistletoe and people kiss like that all the time." 

"So why didn't you?" 

"Why didn't I what?"

"You didn't let me kiss you." 

"I didn't? You just stood there, what was I supposed to do? You always-"

The door swung open and Ron walked in eyeing both of us. 

"You could've knocked!"

"Yeah but I didn't."

"Geez what if I was changing?"

"You would've locked your door. Besides, Harry's in here and there's no way in bloody hell I would let you change in front of him." I rolled my eyes as Harry's cheeks burned. 

"Is there a reason you're here?"

"Mum wants to put all the presents under the tree now so give me yours."

"Um.. tell her I'll bring them down myself later."

"Fine." He looked at Harry again and it looked like he just noticed him for real. "Harry what are you doing in here?" 

"Nothing. Just talking."  he said. 

"Look, if you're planning on making a move on my sister you better watch it-"

"Hello?" asked a voice along with a knock on my door. 

"Come in!" shouted Ron. 

"What is this? Party in Ginny's room?" I asked when Hermione walked in.
