Here is the interview.~
Me: Whats ur name?
Morgan: Name – My pseudonym is Morgan Rider but my real name is Holly Owen. I also write for young adults under the username buzzmama.
Me: where are u from?
Morgan: Hometown – I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I moved to Florida at the age of twenty five.
Me: what do u like to do/hobbies?
Morgan: Hobbies – Searching for new music, reading, watching travel programs, tasting new cuisine.
Me: do u have a bf or a bestfriend -blow kisses and chuckles-?
Morgan: BFF – My four daughters
Me: can u tell me a little about ur books?
Morgan: Info about books – I have written many fantasy novels for young adults. Four are posted on my buzzmama Wattpad profile. One of them, 'Neon Girl', won a 2015 Watty. More recently, I have delved into the new adult genre and have posted two of my works, 'Lexi's Undoing' and 'Lexi's Fate', on Wattpad under the username neverfakeit. Book three of the Lexi series is due out in late spring 2016.
Me: do u enjoyr writing?
Morgan: Enjoy writing? – Yes. Writing has become an addiction for me, like chocolate and Captain and Coke. My characters constantly talk to me and I am compelled to listen and write down their stories. I have to write every day or I am cranky and unpleasant.
Me: are u gonna write a new book soon? if yes what is it about?
Morgan: Next book project – I am currently working on two projects simultaneously. Due to popular demand, I am drafting the third book in the Lexi series. I am also channeling a sexy man/gargoyle named Vincent for a new book. This project was spurred by my obsession with an old cartoon called Gargoyles from the 1990's. I was totally hot for the leader, Goliath. What can I say, I have a warped mind.
Me: how did u come to ur succes?
Morgan: Secret to success – From my three years of experience on Wattpad, I believe my success as a Wattpad writer comes from my compulsion to get it right. I have never posted anything that I didn't go over with a fine tooth comb ahead of time. While I realize Wattpad is a platform where writers can get help with their work, I have found that Wattpad readers are ultimately interested in being entertained not acting as beta readers. You can find beta readers on https://www.wattpad.com/clubs If you want to be taken seriously as a writer on Wattpad, don't post something you aren't totally proud of.
Me: can u give some advise to other writers?
Morgan: Advice for other writers – Two things: read a lot and write a lot. First, you have to be an avid reader to understand the mind of a writer. Ask yourself why you love a particular character and their motivations. What is it about the writer's style that intrigues you? Is it their attention to detail when describing a scene? Is it dialogue or the writer's ability to go deep inside a character's soul? Think about your favorite novels and the reasons why you love them, then write something with that in mind. And do this every day. Of course, there will be days, even strings of days, when you aren't feeling creative, but if you have the heart and soul of a writer, with stories that plague you and refuse to go away no matter what methods you use to ignore them, you will find a way to persevere and put that story on paper, even when your eyeballs burn and your fingers ache. Oh, and learn proper grammar and punctuation. Good command of your native language goes a long way to proving you are serious about making writing your career.
Me: do u have some secrets -smiles-?
Morgan: Secret smiles – I may have interpreted this question incorrectly, but I will share two secrets that make me smile. While it is no secret to my closest family and friends that my very existence depends on music, I will admit openly that if I were asked to choose between losing my vision and my hearing, I would relinquish my vision to keep my hearing. Without music, I would wither and die, lonely and grieving. The stench would be great. The other secret may not come as a shock to my fans of the Lexi series, but I have a secret desire to be defiled by Hades.
Me: what do u enjoy most in ur life?
Morgan: What do I enjoy about life – Without question, my reason for living are my four freaking awesome daughters. Without them, I would not be the person I am today and my life would be dull and monotonous. Music comes in second. And, finally, I have a slight obsession with watching the travel channel or anything travel related. While I have owned a passport since 2013, I have never left my home country of America, but that changes this summer, when my hubby and I spend five days in Cancun, Mexico to commemorate the honeymoon we never had.
Me: do u have someone special in ur life?
Morgan: Special someone – I assume this is the part where I describe how I met my life mate after test driving a few others. At thirty-five, I found myself divorced with three kids, living in a city where I didn't know anyone, but I had hope for a bright future. One night, I decided to get dressed up and hit a popular downtown club featuring a live band. With no expectations, I waltzed in, walked up to the bar, and a nerdy yet adorable guy wearing a cab driver's hat and tube socks with sandals started making conversation with me. This charming geek eventually became my husband and the father of my youngest daughter. He is also the owner of the company who makes it possible for millions of mobile game app users to play GTA while they wait in line at the grocery store. Cool, huh?
Me: what kind of person are u?
Morgan: Describe self – I was raised by musicians in Las Vegas, Nevada during a time when Elvis and Frank Sinatra ruled the music scene. No, I'm not that old. I still have a teenager at home. I have had a lot of crazy crap happen to me, which is probably the reason I enjoy a fairly risk-free lifestyle now, choosing to live vicariously through my kids and the characters in my novels. I have a liberal view of the world and believe that people should be allowed to live authentically and believe in whatever makes them better as human beings.
Me: Is there something u wanna say to the readers or ur fans ?
Morgan: Shout out to fans – I have met a plethora of amazing and inspired people since joining Wattpad, including the Wattpad ambassadors and staff. Of all the social media I subscribe to, Wattpad has surpassed my expectations. I have gained confidence in my writing skills through feedback and interaction with my readers, and I have made connections with people from countries I knew nothing about previously. While I relish the one on one time I spend with my family and friends, I believe social media has sparked conversations and connected us in ways we weren't able to accomplish before. I absolutely love my fans and try to connect with them daily.
Me: U really are a wonderful and strong person who have a lots of support from close friends, family and love.I must say im quite jealous ._. May u get more succes in life. Thanks for the wonderful interview.
That was all for this time. Hang on and we will hear more from popular and wonderful Authors.
