C9:the good story

walking towards my Father , I felt like I was drowning , the family had moved to the lounge. When we entered my parents were seated in one seat, on the other my sister and Duncan, then my was to be but no longer is fiancè.

" seat" my Father commanded and we did as we were told.

" Explain this to me , Veronica, you go to a foreign land and come back engaged, not only that, but you kept it a secret, are you trying to make a mockery of me?" he shouted, he was angry I could tell .

The room went silent , so silent you could hear a mosquitos feet touching a surface. Truly I had nothing to say" shouldn't you be blaming me, I was the one who told you all, I didn't mean to let the bird out of the cage like that, but you should understand, I couldn't tolerate Ryan talking to her in such manner"

You see I had to admire him he had balls alright, to say such when the king was that angry!.The look my father gave him was one to have a dog running for the heals and grown man crying, but Grey did not back down he gave my dad his own look.

The next words that came from my father shocked the whole room, even Grey himself "You have guts, I may not have personally picked you my self to be my daughter's husband, but i see what she see's in you, what's your name?" he asked with a smile on his face, what tha........

"Alexander Taylor " he stated, as if the smile on my father hadn't been gigantic enough, he smiled wider.

" Alexander was a great man, to have such a name, would require you to be great as well, young man." My father stated, and I just sat there looking at him as if he had grown three heads.

"Well, I must be Leaving, if you allow me your highness " the fiancee I never got the chance to have, spoke up. I felt bad that he was sitting there while I was sitting next to Grey looking like a real couple.

"You may" my father told him, his eyes still glued to Grey, I couldn't blame him though, the man was strangely good looking. the man stood, bowed and left.

"How old are you?" My father continued.
" 24 years of age" he'd answered to my father's question.

The king put on a thinking face, as if he was trying to solve a soduko puzzle.
"Your hair is of strange colour, but I must ask, you don't have a problem with my daughter and your difference in skin colour" he asked.

I wanted aliens to abduct me right there and then, what type of a question was that, was he trying to ask if he was racist. I so badly wanted to bang my head against the wall, but I refrained.

" No, a relationship should not be based only on how one looks but the understanding the pair has towards one another." Wow he was good, real good, peeps give that man bells.

"Very well, are your parents aware of this?" At the mention of his parents, he stiffed next to me, before he composed himself again.

" My father is aware of all of this, and my mother is no more." Although to almost everyone close might of thought that he was ok, I could tell that he was not, it affected him to talk about his parents.

"My condolences "My father told him,the rest of the room kept quiet even my mother did not alter a word.

"Further more,I would like to know, how you meet my daughter? "My father asked and I went pale ,honestly I sucked at telling stories, telling one's that did not even exist, let me not even think about it.

I was busy panicking when, Alexander spoke up. " Well, she threw up on my shoes, then fainted on me"

He laughed lightly and so did everyone in the room except my sister. I on the other hand I was embarrassed to no end, he was not about to tell the whole room about my biggest secret , not even my parents knew about that, only me, him and Fiona knew.

"Thats my daughter for you" my mother commented, then grey continued.

"I took her to my house." He told them then looked at me, I was giving the 'don't you dare look', he smiled and continue.

"She slept the night, and I couldn't help but sit there the whole night watching her, she looked so beautiful and peace full."he told them and I blushed, I was not expecting that from him.

Everyone in the room was silent, waiting for him to continue. "But ofcause the peaceful lasted until she was awake, she panicked so much, I didn't even know what to do, then she threw me out of the room, I ended up going to make breakfast for her, later on I called the doctor and he told us that it was just ,a seasonal changes effecting her."

He lied so easily, although some of it was true, I couldn't help but believe all the lies he was telling, he was good, too good if you asked me.

"From then one I kept checking up on her, at first she was annoyed, but as time went by, I convinced her otherwise, a month later, I confessed my love to her" he told them all, from the look they were giving us, they totally bought it all.

"I was delighted to know that she felt the same, after 2months together I couldn't help it but propose to her, but ofcause she let the fact that she was a princess slip past her"

He told them, and everyone was in awe, lies... lies.... lies, all of it but I had to admit that was a good story.

"Wow, that's even better than my wife and I's love story " My dad commented and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes.

"Well I have no choice but to ask you to stay with us a little longer, I want to see if you are really fit to have my daughter" father told him, he stood and extended his hand and I froze.
