Dak was Luke's gunner during the Battle of Hoth. And unlike Admiral Ozzel's and Captain Needa's death's which were played for humor, Dak's death is a bit sad. Especially when think about what he says prior to the battle, how he felt he could take on the whole Empire himself. Yes, "Ralter" is in fact Dak's surname. It wasn't mentioned at all in The Empire Strikes Back. But I learned it from Claudia Gray's book, Star Wars: Lost Stars. Also according to that book, Dak wasn't even nineteen years old when he died.
